Seems like a number of people I know have applied to multiple jobs internally and gone months without hearing anything from the recruiter (including a rejection email) or getting officially rejected.
For those who successfully moved internally: How long did it take for you to hear from a recruiter after you applied?
Is it really hard to try to move up level (especially higher individual contributor) via applying internally?
Also, assuming recruiters are able to screen resumes fairly quickly. Why not just reject people the first few weeks after applying if they do not feel the candidate is the right fit?
