In 2005 I invested $40,000 in Apple. Since then, I have been marking time at Humana, biting my lip and waiting for my investment to grow. Happily, today I am now a multimillionaire and have kissed my poor Humana manager a fond farewell. i left Humana in 2019. I spend my time inernet shopping, traveling and swimming in my pool. Such a toxic work environment at Humana. Those promoting cancel culture are over indulged as opposed to those of us with brains and common sense.
I enjoy working at Humana and was hoping to retire from this company. However, I am a realistic person and know this may not be possible because of the constant RIF’s. I have been looking and will continue to do so. My department is bracing for layoffs after the recent reorganization announcement.
I was RIF’d last year and am now with Aetna. All in all at the end of the day the 2 are pretty comparable in terms of pay, expectations and benefits. However, if you want to work for a company where the next lay-off isn’t the daily topic of discussion and worry, Aetna wins all day long, hands down.
The grass isn’t always greener. I’ve worked for several corporations and none compare to Humana. No company is perfect.
So happy I left Humana over a year ago. Such a toxic environment but, I did learn a few things that I have applied to a new role. It’s good experience to learn the healthcare market but get out and flourish elsewhere.
I left Humana for another job, and after a year, I came back to Humana in a different role. It’s better in the different role, not as much pressure as the first role.
