The other day when I took a long walk around the offices, I was a little surprised to see that nearly the entire IT group was not in their cubicles. I later found out that this is the way it has been of late. That is on top of the other areas where I need to go to for whatever reason(s). I then see an approximate 50% in the office result. I won't go as far as to say that all of this questionable turnout is pi-s poor, but I'll give it no more than a C- letter grade. As the old saying goes, and as I see it, "It aint working". How about your office?

IT people don't need to be onsite to do 99%+ of their work.
The collaboration tools have been around for 20 years, and the old timers in IT had them for 20 years prior to that, you just had to know how to type back then, there were no Like buttons.
I left WF and at my new employer, another bank, I stopped by the office the other day and there were maybe three cars in the parking lot.
I like being in an office with other real people, no offense to my dogs, but the time wasted communting, the damage to the environment, and added cost isn't worth it.
WFH is the future, but WF never seemed to care about the future when I worked there.
Good luck everyone, stay safe.
Cute, so HR and C-suite can’t effectively track based on objective data points, so they have to resort to trolling Layoff sites and tattling on co-workers to scare folks in line.
So you had no idea until you walked by their cubicles? That pretty much proves the point that it doesn't matter where they're sitting.
Didn't know Bill Lumbergh was handing out grades today, Fu-k off.
Re: WFH at companies w/mature leadership:
Is the work getting done? Yes
Are employees productive? Yes
Is RTO needed? No
I'm out of a contact center, so 90% of the people aren't back until September.
What I am wondering is how long will upper management wait for this back-in-the-office to "catch on"? I can't really give our place a letter grade. I just know our situation in terms of numbers returning s_cks.
Work in tech and don't give a flying F for Saul's 3/2 RTO. Have not been to work even once and won't go in either ..
Ok
