Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Vz Code of conduct training

Did anyone else take the code of conduct training and notice anything?
Vz is over the top in wo keness.
The majority of people / images in the training do not represent the majority of Verizon employees. Lots of nose piercings and fully tatted and odd names esme, sibyl and jetson. No Jim’s or Jennifer’s.
It does not represent the true face of vz employees but it sure is anti Wh ite

When they finally had a wh ite guys name ( mike meranski or something like this) in the phishing section and they showed his vz email address with his first name as “bubba”

I did not hold back on the survey.

What is everyone else’s thoughts?

Nobody leaves the company over social policies. Maybe there's a handful of 3 standard deviation out employees who would. But 99% of us don't really give much of a rat's you know what as long as it doesn't affect what we are doing even though we may not be fully into what the company is pushing at any given moment. Nobody cares. Now if Verizon is your life, then maybe you need to get a life outside of here.

The comments throughout this site are proof that Vz’s embrace of Critical Race Theory has been an abysmal failure. No wonder the company is a dog of the Dow. You can’t win in the marketplace without a unified high performing TEAM.

VZ, like Disney, Netflix and CNN is woke disaster. The best and brightest have either left or are leaving VZ over its lefty politics and hostile work environment. The company is being run by social activists NOT business people.

The promotions and hiring long ago stopped being fair.. HR started pushing DEI long before it became the rallying cry for wokeness. HR has been reviewing and manipulating raises and hiring based on targets being met. All I know is that if you were a white male and were going to be given a leading performance review you had to justify in a novel on why it wasn't going to a women, minority or LGTBQ etc... If you are a white 50 something your time is limited if not already RiF'd..

I'm glad Lowell McAdam wasn't woke. It's was great being on strike for weeks with no Healthcare for my family . This new stupid woke guy Hans just keeps giving contract extensions early before the old ones are even up. I can't stand it !!!!!!

Damn I gotta remember that next time I walk into a store and Im the only white male that the neighborhood must be pushing wo keness. Happens to me a few times a week I had just never realized I was supposed to feel hurt and fight back at how unfair it is.

Who cares. Most of us are here for the paycheck. What you do this once a year. Big whoop. They can have Shrek there, as long as my pay get deposited. I personally don't care.

When it comes to next Verizon CEO, I hope they pick the best person for the job regardless of race, s-x, etc. The current CEO Hans performance has been abysmal.

I remember when the company was mostly all wh ite people and not "woke" They were the good old days of be followed around by your old male whi te boss. Getting suspended for not having a cone out. Never settling a contract early ! Always working without a contract or on strike when the contract was up because of the American whi te male ceo. Boy those were days. Good times good times. I really miss having it sh---y!

@mpl+1huVCyRf thanks. Very informative. This explains the outside female executives coming in (iris meijer from Finland and manon brouillette from Canada) and others.

A lot of qualified people, who have been here for years and worked very hard, are passed over to meet the diversity goal.

During the pandemic when Hans admitted he was going to get a certain percentage of a certain diversity into management that's when the promotions stopped being fair. For example he said there's 30 percent of this diverse group in the United States and our management team will meet or exceed that number. Well if they were below target and needed to achieve there target then anyone thats not in that category didn't get the promotion. Is that discrimatory? Or is it justified discrimination?

@kck+1huVCyRf not so much amigo. intentionally showing a bias against a certain group well, that’s not diversity. Diversity is valuable as long as it’s inclusive of everyone, even the Bubba’s. Or maybe you haven’t taken the training yet.

You appear to have some issues with race.

OP doesn’t seem to be hating honey. Maybe you’ve embraced vz becoming a politically charged company and that’s ok. Own your truth.
