Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I think I’ll wait to see if I’ll get laid off.

’ll be perfectly honest. Like many, I’m far from happy at WF. With this amount of uncertainty the question to leave crosses my mind every day. Despite that I think I won’t be leaving, but instead I have made a decision to wait and see what happens.
If I get laid off, OK. Then I’ll be on the job market anyway. If not, I'll be in a position to look for a job for which I’m certain is better than the one I have right now. If I leave now I believe the pressure of finding a new job that” pays the bills'' will catch up to me and I’ll be in a position to settle for something that I don’t really want.
Has anyone else made the same decision for the same reasons?

I had always joked that I wanted a "Package". Never thought I would ever get one. lo and behold there was a big reorg at WFA and I had to reapply for my job. I was past retirement age so I decided I wanted the severance package. I "tanked" the interview so I got the layoff. My last day was mid January 2019 just before COVID hit LOL. Ended up a good friend got the job, the place is a SHI% SHOW now. Glad I'm gone. Got a years severance which alone with my Social security was may more then i needed. Ended up getting a part time working from home job in 2021 just for something to do and keep my licenses active My friends tell me it was like hitting the lotto.

Keep praying for a layoff (my package is 10 months of pay + the working period), and have started looking outside the bank. I’m very selective & cautious, though. I’ve turned down a couple of offers because they didn’t fit what I wanted and I’m to going to accept just anything in order to get out. I’m also only targeting select companies that have a better chance of surviving the looming recession with little impact to the employees.

Incorrect, "Inconsistently meets" is NOT a reason to get terminated for cause, no severance.

In the 6 years I've been here I have received nothing but needs improvement because I keep failing controls that need to fail (I work in what was called WFAS). When I started failing controls they started retaliating and in those 4 years, not penny of a raise, no bonus but they've not written me up or fired me because they know they can't, they have no evidence of wrong doing. My mid year is always great and then at the end of the year they say I pi**ed off someone in the LOB and do another "needs improvement". The fact I've made a complaint to the OCC and SEC may have something to do with the fact I'm still here as well. At this point my job is just paying my attorney fees, we have court in June 2023.

I floated along for years hoping to be cut loose because I had earned almost a full year’s severance package. What changed for me was my manager’s 2-up required her to rate me “inconsistently meets.” She told me he required this. I disputed the rating because she said it wasn’t her decision. Then, when HR called her, she lied and said it was her decision. I polished up my resume and got to looking. I had many interviews and even turned a couple offers down At Freddie Mac.
Then, I got a great offer outside of finance. A 20% increase (plus a raise after 6 mos) and they matched the PTO I had as a tenured employee at WF.
Do yourself a favor and dip your toe in the job market pool. You can easily apply via LinkedIn in a matter of minutes and you never know what great opportunities are out there.

Same here. I've got a ton of covid money saved up, and I don't spend all my regular paycheck so I save a lot of that. I could easily afford to be out of work for a long, long time. Not worried at all.

I'm just going through the motions here for something to do. If I get a layoff, fine.

Suprised they haven't given me a layoff. Must be all the red tape.

Been praying for the layoff for almost a year to get out of this toxic workplace. Started searching outside last week and will take the best fit.
