Is there an internal Wells Fargo policy that prevents us from discussing our compensation with the peers? I know that many go to websites (glassdoor????) to share salary info, so I am assuming that's OK because that info is on many sites, but what about talking directly with someone who sits next to you?

You're free to talk about it. That said, i couldn't care less what you make.
Lead Communications Consultant $107,500 + $29k bonus CLT
Senior lead 149.5 and 30 percent

Lead Software Engineer, CLT, 135K plus 10% bonus target. I left, it was so very easy to find a better job at a higher salary.
Lead Software Engineer
$139k, $20k bonus last few years
This is a legally protected action.
Lead Business Execution Consultant
14 years relevant experience (because that could impact how much you make)
$130k/yr, 25% bonus eligible, which has been maxed out (to the limit of that applicable year) for the last few years.
NLRB protects this right. Discussing pay empowers labor - whether you make more or less than expected.
For @1you+1hokFSKi
BSC role in current architecture = Business Support Consultant. I have MANY in that title who report to me. Totally a valid role. You are conflating it with business systems consultant…which I believe was sunset with the “new” architecture unless in tech (I think).
Senior Lead Audit Manager
137k base
30% bonus target
Senior Lead PM - STL - 145k base, 25% bonus target
but you do care. if you make 100k per year and find out the person who is in a Jr position is making more I'm guessing you will be bothered. everyone wants to know what everyone else makes up until the point they find out. in life there is always someone making more than you
I judge whether or not I am paid well enough. I don't care what other people are making.
If I feel like I am under paid, I will look for employment elsewhere.
If you are a spread out team, the discussion is usess anyway since pay ranges vary by area.
I’m a senior operational risk officer, remote at 200k base and 30% discretionary bonus target
It’s allowed to be talked about
Go ahead. See where it gets you.
Discussing your pay and any other terms and conditions of employment are protected activity under the NLRA. Say what you about your pay
Is it prohibited-no. Is it a bad idea? Absolutely. Never goes well & creates a bad work environment no matter what the good intent. At least 1 person will always be upset with what they find out.
Lead BEC - CLT - $101,900 - $20k bonus
I know the folks from India do it all the time, but in the US it is not proper to do so.
There is no “law” about a lot of things but would not be smart to do it. But millennials love to do what they want.
It's illegal for them to tell you not to..speak away..
There is no BSC role anymore. Nice try. Give an accurate title or it’s useless.
You are free to discuss pay with peers, there are no laws or regulations against it.
It’s totally kosher to do so. STFU
Let’s all share salary information right here.
BSC - DC area - $102,050.00 with bonus (when I’m not screwed out of it with fake bad performance rating) $12K avg over past 8 years.
Now who is next. It’s anonymous.
In CA definitely OK and legal to discuss and most team members do. Huge income disparity in MMB. Turnover is tremendous as mgmt refuses to adjust. Blames HR. Ridiculous.
not against.policy but against culture in US. growing up was raised to never discuss religion, politics, ot money. as a company though we don't even celebrate promotions but now with a the job family changes and our titles being in outlook and workday it's always fun to look up people in your group to see who was promoted
why would you want too! Not cool!!!
They used to have a time in code of ethics to not allow but that was removed a couple of years ago. Some of states enacted transparency laws for compensation and therefore it's allowed.
Whether you want to broach this subject with a teammate is going to depend on how good your relationship is. Let’s pretend you do have this convo and you find out they are making 10-15% (or more) than you for doing the same job, what will your reaction be? What if the inverse is true, do you know how they will react? Will they say cool good for you, or will they hold it over your head?
People react in different ways when it comes to their sense of worth, be cautious in how you proceed.
Many years ago when we used to receive pay stubs in the office mail, I used to find them opened already.
It is just not kosher to do so. No idea if there is a rule. If it ever happens that you do discuss, it would be best if you didn't bring it up. Better to discuss by asking what salary range does this or that position pay. It may come back around to yours and similar positions.
Excellent question . If you are in the US, this is covered by the 1st amendment. If you are in India , then no worries at all- your friend will tell you to the last paisa.
The AI can read your lips and figure out what you are discussing. Best to cover your mouth when talking about pay.
No, against the law to prevent you from discussing salary. Your peers might not be so inclined though.
