Verizon Contract Extension Bargaining
As you know, CWA and IBEW have been negotiating with Verizon since May 16, 2022 to determine whether it’s possible to agree on the terms of a contract extension. These negotiations were planned for a limited time frame. However, we have mutually agreed to continue bargaining through this week in an attempt to reach an agreement.

Better stock the sleep rooms with jerk off magazines, cheap beer and an extra large poorly maintained bed if they want to replicate our homes.

Two day on, FIVE days OFF?!?! One fifth the commute?!?!
That's a dream schedule! AND we get our vacation too... you take one week, and you're off nearly two. SIGN ME UP.
It's typical union stupidity to turn that deal down. Dues are such a waste of money.

The problem is that everyone who knew about that side of the business is gone. So there really is no one to negotiate in good faith. This should be interesting, but the company will settle rather than suffer another strike.

@5mch+1hnS6OOX, it’s work from home, the company’s counter proposal was to set up sleep rooms in the office and allow employees to work 16 hour shifts so they only have to go into office twice a week. So it be more like a Home at work than a Work at home.

I am starting to worry. I asked the union what are the sticking points, I was told they don’t know. Who is running the show at the table? How can anyone not know what is taking so long to come an agreement extension.

3kcr+1hnS6OOX you said those intelligent enough to not get the "juice" stupid wording for someone who tried so hard to sound educated! If not getting the vaccine makes you intelligent then I would have to assume that every doctor at Harvard and John's Hopkins and penn and so on and so on Are all id--ts because they all got it. The head of cardiology at yale should of really talked this over with you

Why do you call it ugly. That's hurtful and probably makes it feel bad ! What if your bucket truck went around telling people you were ugly. How would that make you feel ??

The current contract extension talks as I can recall in 40 years have never gone this long.

Most of the contracts through the years barely change in language.
Big item removed for the membership was the CPI language where anything above 4% would trigger raises.
So what is the minutiae?

Remember when Flash/Bang made the statement that “Its up to the company’s “ to push the Nano Lipid particles?

Well that could be very well what we are witnessing and both the players are on the same team politically.
VZ gets those Federal Contracts with compliance and the union gets to tout a 5 year contract.

If the union side is in lock step as one would expect, then they dragging this out beyond July first will also be giving the company a gift. For those intelligent enough to not get the juice and have the ability to leave, the union handed the company a gift due to be interest rate hikes forthcoming.

The only caveat would be if the one year remaining doesn’t fall under the extension agreement which somehow I find hard to believe it wouldn’t.

So if what I predict bears out, that spells collusion in the grossest sense.

The company wins in so many ways. They will have the membership vote and more than likely approve the extension with the juice mandate selling their brothers and sisters out who agree with “my body my choice “ in many life choice venues.

It wouldn’t be the first time the union agreed to a wedge issue. Recall the pension give away as well as the job security give away creating two classes of dues paying members.

I hope to be 100% wrong with this prediction but it wouldn’t surprise me if that is what we are about to see.

It’s just another example as to how the corruption is systemic in all facets of our society.

The sun will set on the shining city on the hill and It could be argued, rightfully so.

picket for a two-tier system: Fios should be paid more, much more, because there’s more work and they work much harder. Management on that side would most likely follow along. Win-win for all.

OK everyone... the counterclockwise picketing is a no-go.
We put it up for a vote and the membership rejected it. I'd say it was voted down, but there was no vote to speak of. They mostly just frowned, shook their heads and grunted.
We tried explaining what counterclockwise was. It became apparent they didn't understand when we got the same response.
Rather than upsetting our members any further, we have decided to shelve counterclockwise picketing.

This isn't 2020 or 2021. The other issue is not the "vaxxine". It's forced transfers from copper garages to fios ones, home garaging, healthcare. It's not one, but 3..

If the unnamed is of a mandate nature, they can KMA. Truth is coming out and it is ugly. Crazy how all of a sudden people run to the Gubamint and Big Fl-------e when they spend 99% of the time castigating them on a regular basis. Now we trust you. Cracks me up I tell ya.

Here is a question why would you picket early bargaining talks. The contract isn't even over for over a year from now !! What is there to picket ???

by
| | Reply
Post ID: @1yig+1hnS6OOX

Chances are that guy doesn't even have the right to picket because he doesn't even have contract. He or she is probably not union and has no rights or bargaining power and can be fired or layed off at any time, And possibly not old enough or smart enough to understand the importance of that !

The original 3 week talks has turned into 6 weeks because progress has been made. Two issues remain, one will go unmentioned, the other is wages. There will be an extension needing to be voted on by members before July ends.
