Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Went from offices to cubicles to smaller cubicles to low-wall work stations. Can’t wipe my nose or eat a cracker without 40 people seeing. Trying to speak low on a conf call is futile; everyone hears everything. At home, I have a full size desk, 3 monitors not one 14 in laptop screen, a window, soap and toilet paper in the bathroom. Plus clean filtered air. “Please do not bring personal items to the shared work space.” No thanks.

Because just like everyday society these days…all it takes is one bad apple to ruin it for everybody!! Too many WFH people got caught double dipping…working a second WFH job. Corporate America has been tuned in and this is an “behind the curtains” fix that corporate America is in lockstep with. Rather soon, they will again show us who is in power and prove that the “prisoners” are not running the asylum!

Go back to the company that is paying your bills and shut up!

It's just a ploy to get people to quit. Cheaper and easier than laying off.

Those against working as directed by their employer are mentally deficient and shouldn’t be employed in the first place.

In many insTances particularly in NYC like Goldman Sachs and JPM for example it’s all about propping up their crony pals in corporate real estate, Cushman Wakefield etc… along with the the mayor crying and pleading for a RTO to keep the NYC economy afloat. Somebody has to buy those $20.00 lunches. Clown world

It is all about keeping appearnce nonsense. For those who have office jobs, this big data expert company can easily tell if your team and people you work with are collocated with you. Do these facts matter, apparently not.

They should really apply the same "relationship equity" to customers, come into the T stores and buy your next phone and build up your "relationship equity" with the sales rep. I'm sure that will be lines out the door like the iPhone launch days. This the common theme with T executives, forget about competing, they aren't even good at BS'ing their own employees.

I don't know one person who "couldn't wait to go back". This will last a few months until the next variant comes along, or people continue to get infected. Covid is not over.

It's all nonsense. The corporations just feel like they're getting robbed by their employees, who everyone knows are doing all kinds of other things while "working from home". Look, I have been working from home and I fully admit it, as anyone that is being honest will do...including Leadership making the mandates. It's not an either/ or. I can easily fulfill the duties of my job AND even be an excellent performer even if I throw a load of laundry in the washer during normal business hours. GASP. But they aren't willing to think about things differently, so it's everyone back to the office, "relationship equity" blah blah blah. People get forced back into offices where no one even in the same part of the company reside, let alone anyone on their direct team.
