I didn't get any email on return to office nor did others I know. I have been told many times just work from home as I work with people all over the country and in office is of no benefit

I think for them, it’s more about the fact that they’re paying for the building, keeping the lights & water on, the cleaning crew, etc. So they’d rather have more people in the office with those expenses because they’re stuck paying them since some people would prefer to be in the office, or “need” to be there. Then they should minimize the number of offices. More companies are moving to remote employees. I personally give more of my time being remote, working when I would otherwise be commuting, not taking lunch breaks, and working later than I would if I were in the office.
We got the email, return to the office. But the peanut butter is not spread evenly. Overall org 43% are TW only required to go back 1 day per month, however in my AVP group it’s only 10% TW. Not sure how they randomly came up with everyone’s designation but obviously I can do my job from home like I’ve been doing for over 2 years. I’m not going back just to check a box. My group is in another state so no face to face meetings. What is the point? Oh right I might stumble onto the next big invention chatting it up on my way to the John. Pathetic.

There is talk about working "Hybrid" office. For instance WFH 2 days per week, and 3 days in the office. It seems a lot of other companies are doing the Hybrid office.
My group is comprised of people listed as remote, flex, and office workers. All who do identical jobs. The email claimed they made thoughtful decisions about the distribution. If they tried to challenge any noncompliance, they would have a tough case to do so in my group. They can ask all they want, they are not requiring.

Do you actually think that these folks are really scared? These are the same folks that have been out living life for the last year; shopping, going to concerts, going out to eat, living their lives. Only when you bring up coming back into the office (for some just once a week) do they suddenly become terrified. C'mon man.
This RTO topic and discussion reminds me covid vaccination posts. Waste of time. Get religious exemption and request special treatment and 4th level approval. Good luck.

I might as well return to work and look out the window all day. Beats doing what I do now - cleaning toilets, doing the dishes, clothes, cooking, cleaning, watching soaps and spending maybe 2 hrs "working" from home all day.
I will have to go 1 day a week. To an office where no one else on my team is within hundreds of miles of. To, you know, "collaborate". And build "relationship equity".
First off, worst time to do this considering the price of gas. Secondly, does anyone think these offices have been disinfected to pass the same standards of your own home? First sneeze and people will be running. Third, infection rates are climbing across the country. So tell me how this makes any sense?
