In another bank, Chinese nationals on opt and h1b took control most of the quantitative positions. In general, their group is as recession immune as it comes.

Because everyone else not of their group has been forced to leave, whether you call that great resignation or being fired. You are correct

Layoffs will be spend up and the recession used as an excuse. That was already brought up at the last quarterly finances meeting.

The plan is to cut hard so Well Fargo comes out of the recession very lean to reap the profits of the economy improving.
