AT&T CFO says may have to raise prices again as inflation pressure keeps up

Speaking at Credit Suisse's investor conference on Tuesday, AT&T (NYSE:T) Chief Financial Officer Pascal Desroches said the telecom giant may have to raise prices for the second time this year as cost pressures continue to rise.

Desroches added that inflation is "running higher than we planned for," a nod to the fact that cost pressures have continued to rise after inflation data last week came in higher than expected.

More bad news for T's financials. Will raising prices cause customers to go to T-Mobile and leave them no choice but to do LAYOFFS?

We should have went outside and got a better CFO. They hired him from WB because of skin color

Horrible planning on Pascal's part

Uhm, Inflation is great when you're deep in debt. Know any companies like that?

He's simply socializing public excuses to raise prices, so profits are boosted and he gets a fat bonus. It's a PR effort. And you fell for it!

Horrible planning on Pascal's part. Not a good look to nickel and dime customers with multiple increases. Increase prices once, by a wide margin, much more acceptable by our customers. Even if we need to pad the increase, it's better than going back to the well multiple times. Time to send Pascal packing.

Let's all demand pay raise, because inflation is "running higher than we planned for."

For those still think T executives are smarter than a fifth grader, you are so wrong.

This time raise prices more than is actually needed. This way you won't be coming back in another month wanting to raise the price a third time!

Gas has gone up, but they're selling off stores. Also wrote off losses by selling and spinning off DTV and WM. How is inflation justified? It's just an excuse.

Good. Driving around doing nothing but looking busy costs $200 a week in gas.
It's expensive not to mention my wages and benefits.
Someone has to pay.

With the current employee discount and the last raise of Toxic-T's prices, I am at the break even to going with TMOB. Another Toxic-T price hike will trigger me to go to TMOB immediately.

Just delaying the inevitable. I plan on retiring and will immediately go to TMOB since of high Toxic T prices and low retiree discount. Besides, I want to be totally divorced from Toxic T and the Stink and lousy BoD.

Somebody got to pay for the Stink's compensation, private jets, golf outings, limo, etc. None of that is going away for the Stink, Ratty or Whitiacre!
