LOL, they offered me $250k base with 50% cash performance bonus + an almost equal amount of stock bonus for a remote job. I accepted but was skeptical of the company's health and never submitted my two weeks notice. Glad I didn't as I got the offered rescinded two weeks before my start date.

Coinbase is laying off staff today.

Maybe the problem isn't your resume.

Maybe the problem is that crypto is a pyramid scheme, and you are in the middle to lower levels.

Stay safe everyone.

Coinbase does the crypto.

Crypto is crashing.

Also, crypto is pretend.

After the dot com bubble I did better than most people I knew, because I worked at companies that made things, not pretend internet companies.

We're probably going to have a downturn, find a job where they make something or supply a real service.

Matt Damon is not a money manager or career guidance counselor.

Stay safe everyone.

I was being recruited by them - I’m in tech. The money was bonkers the benefits were lavish and people I know who have been working there for a bit love it. I just couldn’t wrap my head around the whole crypto thing - I understand how the tech works I just didn’t feel like working on a digital wallet to hold a pyramid scheme was a good idea.

The only people who make any money on crypto are the prestige owners who can tweet and move the market. It’s another form of celebrity worship to me. Normal people may have made money on it before the celebrity crowd moved in but now it’s just another grift subject to the whims of the most famous holders.

Sad to see Wells folks suffering with Coinbase rescinding the offers. Wells folks had the most transferable skill that Coinbase could have readily used: to create something fake , and that too in bulk.

Who would have thought creating fake currency could lead to problems. Just wait till the rest of tech starts folding when they have to produce income and interest on their debt goes to 10%. WF will be the new Google, the it place to land, watch.

Turns out the crypto market is something of a wild ride. When your customers are subject to wild pricing swings that either price them out of buying more or losing so much value they sell to backstop losses it doesn’t lead to the most stable revenue streams.

I thought they rescinded all offers, not those coming from major banks.

But, but... everyone says crypto isn't banks, it's freedom from banks.
