This attitude is exactly where Charlie & Co have done the most damage at Wells Fargo. Leaders can’t stack-rank, threaten, cost-cut, over-work and offshore this bank into becoming a successful organization. Culture is such a critical piece to building a thriving team.
My experience with most employees is:
Treat them with respect and appreciation, like they make a difference- they will go to the ends of the earth for you.
Treat them like they are a number, like they are easily replaceable - you’ll be lucky to get 10% of their potential from them.
Compare the exponential potential of 250,000 inspired and valued employees working together as a team; vs the reduced effort of 250,000 under appreciated people trying to survive a toxic every-man-for-himself culture.
This company is in trouble.
