Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

This is no longer an innovative company

In my opinion, Oracle has unfortunately not been an innovative company for a long time.

Why is it like that? Where did the innovation go? Does the leadership really think that without innovation this company has a future? Is our leadership even interested in what our customers want?

This has been the case for at least 20 years. Even worse, when they take over a true company of innovation, they suck the lifeblood out of it and discard the desiccated carcass. Then move onto the next. The culture literally discourages taking any risks and any kind of forward thinking and that was the case since at least 2000. Even OL is just repackaged CentOS. In fact you can take Centos yum packages and drop them into OL, at least up to 7. I've done it. Changing the log in screens is hardly innovative.

You only innovate when you lead. Not when you follow and never take the lead!
