Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Managers! Do you get a report of your team on RTO?

I know, I know! I have read through all sorts of posts about RTO, not going in, reports, blah blah blah. But can a manager tell us what it looks like now (7/20)? Does it show IP addresses? Asking because I have been "sneaking" out after being the office for 6+ hours and working from home for the rest of the day.

Want to make sure that I'm covered because we're going under NH soon. Heard that he's super adamant on rto!

The tool for your physical is garbage now, they can't generate reports. And no, they aren't monitoring your device to see if it obtains a certain IP. Anyone who thinks differently is ignorant.

They're making a list and checking it twice.

3 o'clock exodus, lol. Haven't seen it, I'm gone at lunch. For the "get your a-s to work or get fired crowd", you can go pound sand. Yes, the company has the right as an employer to demand I work at a specific location / time, and I respect that. What I don't respect is liars pi----g down my back and telling me it's raining. If they said "we're the boss and we say you have to go to the office, because we say so", that'd be fine. If they said "our corrupt political overlords that have our nuts in a box via regulators tell us to do this", I'd appreciate the honesty. What's not fine is telling people that have been WFH for years highly successfully that now they have to go to a building with no peers, direct, manager, or others to collaborate with because "we're better together" when in reality we will just wind up doing what we've been doing for years, collaborating by phone, Skype, etc. I've been dutifully going to the office since RTO went into effect and there has been a demonstrable net negative benefit. I go in, work, and go home and do real work without distractions. I don't collaborate with anyone there, primarily because I'm not authorized to discuss what I do with people that don't have a business need to know, and no one at my assigned location does. I go because I respect my boss and love my job, but RTO is an abject failure because it's a hamfisted (mostly) blanket policy, when it should be entirely up to mid managers. The execs can do what they want, but lies undermine their program and no amount of "because we say so" can resolve that. I honestly had no issue with what these NY clowns were doing since they had been in charge, until the 401k match / bonus change and then RTO. Now they can go F themselves, and so can anyone carrying their water on the lie that is RTO. They can do what they want, but they can't make me believe in something I know with certainty is a pack of lies.

Every line of business receives a weekly report on the % of employees that have returned to office a minimum of three days. This report is multi layered; badge swipe and server info. A manager can request a deep dive in their group.

The other two people that usually show up on my floor tend to leave at 1:00.

I can confirm that the 3:00 mass exodus is a very real thing.

Everyone leaves at 3pm anyway, no need to check. Just use that as the checkout time.

Wells Fargo keeps changing what we mutually agreed to. While it's true that I am free to seek employment elsewhere, I haven't been able to find a comparable position where I am still able to work from home. I had a formal, signed telecommuting agreement, long before Covid. Wells Fargo chose to break that agreement. I'm not in a hub location, and sit in a mostly empty building. All of the people I work with are located elsewhere. Had Wells Fargo given me a severance package option, I might view things a bit differently, but the idea that we're "better together" as a selling point for me being in the office is silly.

Wells Fargo chooses to move people to different roles, change job titles, change job responsibilities, break signed agreements, change how often 401k contributions are made, change recognition rewards, change bonus percentages, limit merit increases, etc... In return, Wells Fargo would like us to remain motivated, and continue to increase efficiency. What do they do for us? At some point, being grateful for a job doesn't cut it, and finding a job someplace else isn't the easy solution that some people seem to think it is.

Jobs are based upon mutual terms of agreement. If either party does not like the terms, they are free to end the relationship.

If you don't like having your work location monitored, you are free to seek employment with a business that does not do so.

US empire CEO: Thanks to your hard work and dedication we just made record profits.

US Employee -Lackey Me: Cool, what's my reward? Raise to keep up with inflation? Promotion? Company stock? Work from home?

CEO: You can keep your job and have a pat on the back.

Me: Oh look, your competitor is gonna give me a 20% salary increase. Adios!

CEO: What if we offered monthly pizza parties and dollar store certificates of appreciation?

Ok... but, the whole "skipping class" analogy previously commented doesn't work. How out of touch. In class, there's a professor, fellow classmates and materials being learned, discussed, etc. Even with virtual classes, same thing: there's a legitimate reason to attend. In forced RTO, teams are scattered across the country reporting to presumably the closest office, conducting business via Skype/Teams calls and email, exactly the same way they do from home. The quality or quantity of work depends on the person. Has nothing to do with whether they're coming into a random office or not. The game has changed. The majority of the workforce (where the job can be done from home), want to do so for a plethora of reasons. Anyway, I digress. Just had to chime in on that absurd skipping class comparison. How ridiculous.

I don't know what's worse. RTO, or live music at bars, festivals, etc.

Live music sounds just awful. It shows how untalented most music acts are. The ones that sound good are often lip syncing because their low-functioning fans can't tell the difference.

The other problem with live music is that it's usually a trashy scene all around. Trashy people holding a cheap beer, singing/screaming lyrics while thinking they look hot doing it.

Women love being lusted after by strange, gross men, so of course, women love attending live music events. There they get to be oggled at by boozed-out low income men. It's another example of women behaving the exact opposite of what their words say.

Men usually make horrible parents. (There, now it's equal.)

I go in more than my team does. Here 3x a week.. others don't follow the rules either and don't get in trouble for it. Only started leaving at 6+ hours in the office. So mehhh 🤷‍♀️ why should I continue to follow the rules if others aren't?

Do the reports match the building you are assigned to vs one you go to?

I ask because I am assigned to a building 25 miles from home but have been sitting in one that is only 6 minutes away

Yes, it covers IP and Lan. It doesn't show how long you've been at a site. You badge in or log on and that's it. You could go home after 5 min
