Hello, does anybody know the target compensation for Wells Fargo Control Director position (base, bonus) in Charlotte? I have an upcoming interview, but not sure if worth pursuing. Would this position be safe from layoffs due to the focus on risk, compliance, controls? Thanks!

Run, don't walk, away. Nothing is safe from layoffs, the culture is bad. Not a good time to join the bank. Systems don't work, processes get recalibrated every 6 months to a year, people don't cooperate. You can't just evaluate the salary here, look at all the other things you'll need to deal with that don't seem visible at first. Peruse this board.

@1brj. After COVID, a lot of people found out about things they could live without, assuming their family was left intact.
Hence the great resignation.
No, but I know the compensation for the CEO job. I know a ton of people in the company more qualified for that one than the current occupant.
Last in, first out. If you're on this site reading the posts and are still considering working here, then you deserve to find out what a sh_t show it really is.
Nothing is safe... nothing.
What planet do you live on?
The reality is most teammates who work in the us regime corporation is desperate. they have huge loans/debts, kiddos, big mortgages, leased cars, all us empire CONsumerism-- propaganda. They need to "like" "love" that job... hamsters on wheel with no exit strategies except hoping, some daying, and work hardering. it's a goat, even if it flies
I work with Control in my LOB and they have been increasing the staff and processes there dramatically in the last 6 months to a year. Adding several new layers of audit and validation. With all of the identified risk that needs to be solved, you would expect the role to be safe. But, with all of the excess layers that have been added, I think they'll have to trim some once they figure out which ones are working and which ones aren't. Interesting to note that some of the new people in that role are overseas and don't understand the business but they are expected to audit the processes.
Your soul, your personal life and your left arm is what you give up! No one is protected from layoffs. Run just look elsewhere.
The reason people don't "check Glassdoor" is because Glassdoor is highly inaccurate. Additionally this is a director level position so very few would even have this information...this and blind is the right place to check...be nice or sc--w off.
Quick Tip - When they ask how much pay you expect to earn - tell them at least half of it...
This place has about 4 times the Risk staff that most banks do. They torture the rest of us with their red tape and bull sh-t.
Lol @ director position asking about safe from layoffs. Either BS, or you are over your head.
I heard tech is affected from the "I heard tech is affected guy".

Really strange thing to inquire about on this forum.
I call bs in this one. The recruiter typically will tell you the range for the position and this is buttoned up upon offer of employment. No such thing as "safe from layoffs". At will. Same rules apply.
Not always accurate so wanted to see if there was any additional insight here
