Hi All, I've joined recently and I've noticed that almost no make colleagues at the bank have facial hair. I am not sure what's the beard etiquette in the industry as I am coming from an ad consultancy and it was OK over there. What do you think about this as I was told that there is no official policy/guidance on it.

I heard people stash Wells' corporate secrets in their beards.. Probably should lose it so you don't get hunted down by Corporate risk..
Good point. Charles and his bros, not one of them has a beard and they certainly aren't trustworthy. You may be on to something.

The founders of the company both had beards, and good sized ones at that. Remind anyone trying to discriminate against you of this happy fact.

I work as a banker in a branch amd often have a beard.

Get away from customer-facing roles and there's a fair share of hirsute visages.
There's no policy. If you're customer facing, however, you'd do well to keep it neat.
As with all hair business protocols, main thing is to keep it 'trim'.
Only a few markets/customers tolerate the grizzly or lumberjack look.
Unless, of course, you have unique coloration including a gray streak.
These should be emphasized.
Then again, it's about Money - not Appearances.
I'm a lady with facial hair due to a medical condition, and it's too much hassle to wax. You do you.

Instead of beards, most of our closeted posters here prefer to protest too much with complaints about DEI, and a handful of male executives they can’t seem to get out of their head.
