It's been known for a long time now that Frederick wasn't going to be around much longer. Same with most of the VA sites, as well.
So much for the phrase "The India team is to help us out, not replace us"... Riiight.
60 people were laid off in Ft. Mill this past Thursday in the foreclosure dept. Demand team, foreclosure production, bidding, post sale, document execution, aged asset management. There was wailing and gnashing of teeth. It was horrible because people were blindsided. Found out the next day that managers and team members (who were sworn to secrecy or they would be fired) had been training people in India since March/April. The team members conducting the training never came back to the office when we did. Shady stuff all around.
Both of the TMIM coordinators aligned to our LoB are still here.
There were layoffs today on IT. Several in TMIM which handles all the meetings for IT issues were let go today and being transitioned to India.
Consumer lending/mortgage servicing …document execution, foreclosure bid processing, about 20-25 people in fort mill. All of our jobs just got sent to India. They don’t even have access to all the systems they need. Can’t run DOD checks or process bids because they don’t have access to social security numbers… I think Des Moines just got hit hard too last week
@bik you obviously have never taken an economics class. Recession is a definable term. What you feel is irrelevant.
RTO has been a massive failure. Morale continues to suffer, as does quality.
Watch that stock price keep falling...
Haven’t heard anything official in my area of tech, but people are definitely on edge and rightfully so. Hoping this affects as few people as possible and best of luck to those which it does affect.
Meanwhile in India, jobs are plentiful...........
Best wishes to anyone affected. More corporate greed affecting everyday Americans.

The country has been in recession for years for 99% of us on Main Street. Now that the stock buybacks stopped and Wall Street is affected finally, certain quarters are crying recession because it is in their interests to finally notice.
I wish someone would just say out loud that our country is already in a recession.
All the people from different companies laid off from banking... jobs don't magically drop from the sky - where are we going to find jobs if everyone is laying people off?
Is tech affected?
I love how when some folks don't personally experience something they insist it didn't actually happen.
I would assume somewhere in mortgage
Yes in Frederick Maryland but we knew. But they kept some people. Was working in mortgage complaints then went to bank call center in January now laid off. I heard more will be laid off this afternoon. Stay safe everyone
No BS. I have a support friend in ECMO that was just displaced.
I call BS
Not in IT
ECMO team that was “assisting/redeployed” to EDB was laid off today.
I'm hiring and understaffed.
Confirmed. I just heard of layoffs.
It’s true
Not in my area.
No major layoffs announced to any teams so far.
how do you know?
Isn’t is supposed to be next week -3rd Thr of the month?
