Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Not Yet Laid Off Mortgage Worker

I check this site often to find out if I still have a job this week, while here, I read so many toxic posts- most I can agree with. When you look for the bad in any company, you will surely find it. I am not certain why Wells Fargo is delaying mortgage layoffs, but I have to say I am grateful to still have a job. The severance and unemployment would be a nice little break, and would help make up for my lost production pay over the last, say 8 months (the pay cuts have been brutal) ... but the thought of starting all over at a new company after all these years, and losing fantastic PTO counts, is not enticing. So thank you WF - for this week at least.

I hear ya. Fellow mortgage worker here. Every week I'm faced with an odd mix of hope and dread, wondering if my name got pulled from the (seemingly random) hat this time.
I like my job and would hate to lose it, but if it's inevitable stares at my single-digit pipeline then let's just get it over with.

Some of what you are saying is "Don't break my routine". There is definitely something to be said about that. You have been on the stagecoach for years. You know who you can trust amongst the department heads. Who to go to for what issues. Who not to mess with and on what day or time of the day. You have the nuances down. But at a new company, it's wide open. You may accidentally do something at the completely wrong time and lose a possible feather in the cap, or worse.
