In the program, you will make frequent love to your mentor/mentee. That's first and foremost. (Mentee would be advised to establish a safe word.)

I was part of this, as a mentor. Had two mentee's (not at the same time). Both were 20 years old or so.
One left the company and went on to a successful career outside of WF.
The other got into a fist fight with another employee, and was fired. Serious. Never heard from him again.
I participated in this when I worked in CIB back in 2014. My “mentor” always reeked of onions and used a ton of profanity when we met up for lunch. He showed me pics of his wife’s fun bags and would be like, “Pretty great, eh?” I didn’t know how to react, so I just said, “Yeah, definitely.” Another time, I ran into him in the mens room. He stood a full 3 feet back from the urinal, and urinated with his hands behind on head. When he noticed that I entered the mens room, he turned to greet me, and the stream of wizz from his man sausage was temporarily misdirected and created a nasty yellow puddle on the floor. He just looked at it and was like, “Oh boy! I did it again!”
Can't be any worse than a can of Coke and a stick of beef jerky.
OP here, received Email to ask me to enroll as mentee in my LOB, wondering if it is actually helpful with career development.
I think it depends. In the old WFA, I thought it was very beneficial especially for a younger person that's about 5-10 years into their career. A senior leader would provide guidance and personal experiences to help you grow professionally. I would bet it varies from LOB to LOB and definitely the mentor.
At the same time, what does it hurt?
Get a mentor that doesn't work at WF.
No offense but if you’re asking about the benefits of a mentor you’re not ready for it.
the mentor isn’t there to hand you life advice and lessons, they’re there to help guide you to your goals that are already formed and you need help working towards how to get there.
It would be great if mentors provided that, but in my experience that type of relationship happens more naturally or through family Acquaintances where they’re there to actually help you with the connections you need and give you. Leg up.
This program is literally matching a skills set to someone that wants that experience and isn’t even full of many people that are that “high up” in the company.
