Been with T for 30 years, never seen it so bad. It seems like the company is on autopilot. Morale is as bad as I've ever seen. With all the wasted cash and other resources over the failed acquisions, Tmob, DTV, and WM, I sometimes wonder how the company survived. T is fundamentally broken, and $150B in debt. It's hard to believe things will ever get better, at least not in my lifetime. Thanks Stankey and Stephenson for wrecking a once strong and admired company.

No Dark Clouds Overhead for the Stink! The milking continues! He is happy!
You notice the Stink is quiet. No Pajama Videos lately. He is busy looking to spin something off. He will sell ANY asset off for a shiny nickle. Some private equity will buy it for a shiny nickle. Just as long as the Stink gets his $8million bonus for brokering the deal - that is all the Stink cares about. Well that and making Toxic T employees, customers and shareholders suffer!
“att needs to bought by another communications company and show how to run things.”
Who would touch T with a ten foot pole given its debt level?
att needs to bought by another communications company and show how to run things.
We are being forced to return to work offices full time after no commuting for two years! The cost of living and gas prices were doable at home but now are making me take a close look at retirement! This is nuts and the new management under Stanley is destined to fail with his old school way of “cracking the whip” On its employees with no say about what makes employees happy. I DO NOT feel safe returning to the office! I am getting out of the union as SOON as we go back in protest of them doing it saying nothing about our doomed return to work!
If this is true, then the OSP, outside plant technicians would be spun off with the fiber unit, I would presume! That would get rid of a lot of highly paid technicians that search for under ground fiber. I find this rumor to be just that not to mention T will be hard pressed to find a buyer for this business unit. That will be the biggest challenge of all!
HQ has formed a team to start evaluating how to spin off AT&T fiber. When that happens, AT&T will have significant reductions. T would just be a Wireless provider which would make money, just not with 230K employees. TMO the #1 carrier has 75K employees which would be a modeled number if T is having to compete.
If there are dark clouds overhead, then T hides it very well! In my organization, it's business as usual, they spend money on anything and everything like drunk'n sailors and they continue to hire more personnel even though business is slow! Apparently, we have managers that are good cheer leaders!
yep is why i left 4 years ago.
it is on nothing but a downward spiral
but the goberment will save them
Workers are paid. Investors are paid. What debt?
Lets just hope they don't try to buy any more companies. Stick to what works Bozos!
I’ve been here 25 years and couldn’t be happier. Making more money than ever while doing nothing all day every day lol. Not my job to find work. I’ll be here another 25 collecting easy paychecks
Big beautiful debt to make AT&T great again.
What r u talking about...the Fed plans a hal point increase in the interest rate each month through August which will mean anothet 1.5% increase!
Y’all need to take advantage of AT&T’s mental health benefits. I think you get 5 free sessions. Mention depression. You’ll get through this. Positive affirmations are working for me! “I connect people to the people they love!”
30+ years here too. Like the OP, I have never seen morale anywhere near this bad. And it just keeps getting worse. Instead of correcting obviously bad decisions management just doubles down on them. They have effectively beat the give a dang out of us. It’s sad, but true.
I think a lot of things depend on the Federal Reserve. AT&T has company, the Federal government has been running uncontrollable deficits. With the Fed not yet raising interest rates to even 1%, it looks like they'll let inflation run, and cheapen the national debt, which will also have the effect of cheapening AT&T's debt.
Dollar devaluation may be AT&T's savior.
Amen. Only a fool would see the company as having a bright future ahead. Too much debt, too many outstanding shares and a business that’s been mismanaged for years.
With more and more automated systems, cloud services and less demand for our services the future is quite dim.
