It is probably safe to assume it’s happening in other cities/hubs.
I know, personally, of at least 10 people on our floor of 150 who are out with it as we speak. There are a lot of other employees, whom I don’t know personally, who are suddenly and unexpectedly “out for the next week” with no explanation. Being told that our managers’ hands are tied by the C-Suite as far as not being able to tell us who has it and who doesn’t. People are coming back in the office still displaying symptoms.
No - I don’t care about HIPAA, or that WFC is following the CDC. I think the policy of WFC notifying us by email if we have come in to “close contact” with someone who tested positive is far too little and much too late. By the time we are notified - how many of my friends and family have I infected?? We are depending on the same bank who can’t get right with the Feds, and who is known for abusing their customers and disrespecting/disadvantaging their employees to keep us safe from a highly contagious virus??
Keep your eyes and ears open as to what is happening around you. Stand up for yourself if you think your current conditions are unsafe. Ask people who are coughing and sneezing to keep a distance. (I believe you that you have allergies- keep your distance anyway.) Ask questions. Don’t go on to a meeting where people are not wearing masks.
You have to protect yourself because WFC is only interested in protecting the business, not their employees.
