I’m just afraid of being fired because I refused to go back to the office. I've noticed that the manager is not happy, but I still haven't been told anything specific about it. I wouldn’t want to get fired before I find another job and so I wonder if anyone's been fired already because they refused to come back.

If I'm forced to go back into the office, there is no way i will ever get my lawn cut, washing done, groceries bought and put away, and my house cleaned. This is totally unfair, not what I signed up for.
With all the communicable diseases out there that could cause death before covid ever hit, how did you survive going to work everyday?
Are you crazy? They can't fire you without due process. Stand your ground, you are entititled to three written warnings, that you must acknowledge, before they can even think of releasing you.
Think of a company reason to work from home and have someone approve the location change. Check policy online. After working from home, request a company owned mobile phone per policy. If told no to a company no cost phone, show policy for a dedicated landline. The cost of the install (actual hard work) is paid on boss's budget. The monthly bill is sent to your manager for payment and verification you are still employed. To avoid extra cost and task, you get a phone. Everyone should have received one when sent home.

not true. There are numerous people out there who have all but abandoned their jobs but continue to pull a pay check because the process to fire them is so convoluted. It's ridiculous
There are plenty of "work from home" opportunities out there if you still want to isolate yourself from humanity! Just make sure you get all of your groceries delivered, you stay home 24/7, don't ever leave your protective bubble and you should be safe! However, you might realize some mental health issues if you don't have them already!
just go back to the office for god’s sake! You don’t have to go back, and AT&T doesn’t have to pay you.
There is no reason to ever return to the office. Plenty of other opportunities out there.
No show no pay, I worked through covid till they offered $50,000 plus sipp during the last surplus in 2020. Glad I took it. They may make another offer, just wait it out.

There is no reason not to return to the office at the point! Are you actually saying you aren’t already regularly going to grocery stores, restaurants and other public places? This is doubtful.
