Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Recession is coming. It will wipe out many jobs

Good luck to those planning to “hold the line” and not meet the required minimum attendance

I will don’t agree with required minimum attendance it is not something I am prepared to lose my job over

If you truly believe a recession is coming you prepare for it however you think is best.

But just "sit down and shut up" is very simplistic advice.

@ryh+1gvWBdZ6 the fact that people are not taking jobs and thus jobs available remains high, produces the fallacy that the job market is good. It is not good. Employers will run out of the ability to hire at higher rates at some point. When that happens we will go from minor to major stagnation in our economy. Then a serious level of layoffs will occur nationwide and worldwide.

@qnr+1gvWBdZ6 Heard today the Fed may increase by half a percentage point. Then continue to do so during this upcoming malaise in our economy. I also don't see anything coming out of the WH or DC to stop this demise. My position now is that of a pessimist. It also gives the chainman more reason to layoff in our ranks.

"If the market tanks" - it hasn't yet so we don't know what will happen. Inflation and the Fed raising interest rates are supposedly already baked in but we'll see what shakes out. Nobody knows anything for sure.

If the market tanks, people lose net worth tied to equities. When that happens, they lose confidence and restrict their spending. When consumer demand drops so do jobs

How so? The job market is good despite inflation. Why are you assuming people will lose their jobs?
