Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Question for Family Member on Wells Fargo Credit Cards

A family member was looking for a good cash back Credit Card to replace a JPMorgan card that earned airline miles because their systems just couldn’t seem to get statements right or correct errors. She found an independent article which gave the 2021 Wells Fargo Cash Back card a fantastic endorsement as one of the best cards.

I work here and am well aware of all of our our tech, mortgage processing and accounts issues. But I have no real knowledge at all concerning our Credit Card systems, processing and account servicing capabilities. I don’t want to recommend this to family but it did seem to be a great card.

Does anybody know if we actually have our act together for the 2021 Wells Fargo Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card ? I would hate to see a family member experiencing a card processing meltdown, extra accounts opened, identity loss etc. please, only reply if you work in Wells Credit Card.

I got this card last year for the 2% flat cash back because I thought it would be easier than Citi Double Cash which splits it to 1%/1%. I stopped using after getting the sign up bonus because WF online portal is not very user friendly and the rewards redemption app is atrocious. I use cards from our major competitors including Discover, Capital One, Citi, and Chase and all their online interfaces are far superior and easier to navigate. But the real kicker is that I always payoff my balance immediately after each charge I make so I never accidentally carry a balance, and WF started limiting me for making "too many payments" on the card. It seems designed to make you carry a balance until the end of each period to maximize their chances of charging interest if you don't go in. Seems like an abusive practice to me. Curious if anyone else experienced this as well.

Applied. Got declined. LOL

Continue to use the Citi double cash that also gives 2% cashback.

Wells lost my business ~4K per month spend. But I do pay it off every month and it is possible they may be looking for people that keep a balance

I used to use Citi and then Cap1 for cash back CCs, but ditched both for the newer 2% WF card. Couldn't be happier.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend any WF product to any friend or family member.

It's not that WF products are bad. It's that IF something were to happen to my friend or family member's money then they would come to me.

I just don't want to be on the hook for that sort of thing.

For airline miles, no. Chase, AMEX, Citi, and Capital One have options to transfer points to airlines. WF is not a major player in credit cards, generally weak options for people looking for travel perks.
