Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Do less for more

For several years now some of us keep being expected to keep doing more for less. They get rid of people or people leave for greener pastures and instead of replacing them they drop their work on us and tell us to deal with it. Well, I've decided to start doing less for more. I'll only do what used to be my work until they fire me. Then I'll enjoy unemployment as I look for a new job. I'm done with giving this place more than it deserves - and that's not a lot.

NOT necessarily true in this case. Whatever the 1st & 2nd level managers tell their superiors, they're accepting as requirements to conduct business in order to support the customer base. 1st levels have been telling their direct reports and their 2nd levels that there's a lot of work coming and the team needs to have the resources in place to deal with it. Two years later, same story, same scenario, over-staffed with the workload still slowly coming in increments. The good thing is that the work force will not be adjusted based on the amount of work or lack of!

Adjusting the workforce based on amount of work. That's how a business is run.

In the Business Service world, we, "do less with more!" We have more people and very little work! Gotta love this place, a fun company to work for!

You have time during business hours to actively read and post on this board but feel you don’t have enough time for more work?

This is not just happening to the positions in the field but it is happening to those in the office too. People are retiring or resigning because they are getting piled on with all kinds of admin work that is either new or was performed by someone else. Their management doesn't care and isn't supporting them because nobody has the ba!!s to say "No more".

They could assign me every repair ticket in the country.
"Unable to sign off. You have jobs assigned."
Hahahahahaha....nope.
I've got to head home and pick up dog Cr@p in the yard.
I'd call the boss and notify him, but he is at the tavern by 3:30.
They don't care even more than I don't.
And that's saying a lot.
Jimmy crack corn.
I'm still going home at 4:30, and they'll do nothing about it.
Nor have they.
