Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The Blood Bath has only just begun

and it will continue until morale improves! Sure, there will be more people leaving this company either voluntarily or not, but the reality of the now core business only is that the company is too bloated with unnecessary personnel. Give the strategists time to determine where the cuts will be made, but be assured that they will be made and lots of us will be severed from T by this time next year!

ABS? Don't know here you have been in the last few years, revenue has been dropping consistently. Retaining the same resource staff level doesn't make sense, even for T.

Consumer Mobility is the only strong entity here.

As well as ABS...quite possibly these two business entities are solid enough to where there is no room for layoffs to any of their people.

It’s too late to retire with benefits. This is a win-win for AT&T - if you didn’t retire last year - everyone they lay off this year goes out with NO medical subsidies. I saw this coming - glad I got out while I could with as much as I could.

There are technicians all over this company with very easy to nill workloads. Bargained for personnel should be scrutinized and those areas where the work is non-existent, be given offers to leave. T would still be upholding their agreement with the union. And areas where personnel is needed wouldn't have to suffer due to manpower shortages.

Get rid of unneeded workers. That is a good step in refocusing company.

As the business has refocused its strategy, expect tens of thousands to exit the business. Look at the number of employees T has compared to its peers.

Nobody is leaving voluntarily. It’s an easy choice, you either leave with benies and compensation or we let you go. Forced to make that choice, many are deciding to retire.
