Facts:
Wf is doing this already
An employer can most certainly require you to be in a location of their choosing, regardless of whether you think it's needed to perform your job or not.
Reports are to the person/individual level
Message managers are being told/asked to spread right now is - "OK, the burn in period is over, the expectation is going forward - 3 days a week"
You can be 100% sure that over the coming weeks those that choose to ignore (and don't have a WFH accomodation or status of some kind -officially designated) will be getting stronger messages directed at them individually.
This is not going away.

Pull your heads out folks, the ability to do so is ridiculously simple and Wells is already doing it, with the results aggregated and presented to Chuckles. I've received the reports combining badge swipes and LAN logons, so make no mistake they are tracking since it feeds into ongoing layoff decisions a la The Attrition Rate.

Why is this surprising or offensive. They have always had this information available to them. The jobs we were hired for were office jobs. Of course they monitor what happens on their systems and takes action if it violates policy.

Many of our systems here at WF don’t work very well and are down a lot. I find it hard to believe the company has all the resources mentioned to monitor employees’ work locations, IP addresses on various days or times, and # of badge swipes, etc. I understand it CAN be done—I think it’s doubtful the monitoring is being done correctly or with any urgency here at this old bank where not many systems function very well. It took months and numerous emails just to obtain the darned badge in the first place! Comical. Accuracy & timeliness are not strengths here at WF.

We already submitting stamp 2 times a month…. So I won’t be surprised if we would be asked to do “official” time cards daily

Yep, and next thing you know your employees are spending more time figuring out ways to 'game' a stupid system than they are running a good bank.

WF is doing the same thing and sr leadership has reports now using combination of badge swipes and network logins. it will only get more detailed over time and managers will start being required to enforce on a case by case basis.

as for swiping time clocks, Ive worked for a few companies where salaried employees are required to fill out time cards, especially when it comes to companies doing government contract work.

@rkh. No. They are trying to make this as painful as possible so that you quit. No one is going to see any sanctioned flexibility. Any flexibility your manager is providing you is under the table and the C Suite will seek ways to take it away.

In Federal, they have this, and workers are able to do all their hours in 2-3 days with 4 or 5 days off each week! they just need to squeeze in minimum of 40 hours.

Or you can choose to get double hourly pay, that is divide your salary by 2080 and this will give you your hourly rate. So if this $100/hour multiply by 2 and then you get $200.

Will it work like it does in federal space, as listed above?

Note, to create these just go to archive.ph and put in the url. If someone already did that then you will see the version from their earlier effort but if you are first then you will add it to the queue and get the results shortly. Credit goes to an anonymous poster on this site who was doing this on other posts.

Sadly, they DO have a right to treat us that way. Amazon had workers pi----g in bottles so Wells Fargo can definitely micro manage our in office time if that is what they choose to do with their leadership resources. They are demolishing the company by driving all of their best resources away though.

Prediction: Financials will look better temporarily from the reduced head count. Next, this batch of leaders cashes out, and finally the regulatory hammer comes down after existing semi-functional processes fall apart.

@sjw+1gm07crq These responses are so annoying. It’s like saying - since they pay you they can treat you any way they want. If you don’t like it, leave!

Companies do NOT have a right to treat people like animals in exchange for money. Workers’ RIGHTS are a real thing and it’s time to start using them.

Seriously, I’m waiting for Charlie to just go ahead and make all of his salaried employees swipe time clocks like we are teenagers working at the fast food jo--t (no offense intended to people working fast food.)

What a petty little sh!t.

And pathetic that these big wigs need to track employee attendance closer than they track absences at most schools. FFS, they all need to get a hobby.

I don’t doubt this is happening, but unless Chuckie begs Jamie for his dashboard template and all the systems behind it to make it work, this is likely a ways down the road for Wells.
