Yep, I too work five days a week, typically 10 hour days. Oops! Actually now three 8.75 hour days to accommodate my commute + two 10 hour days when I WFH.

Like @wva, I’m assuming OP meant five days a week IN THE OFFICE.

If there is any truth to the rumors (I still think we’re being trolled by sadists) that we’ll be expected to work five days a week in the office, that’s where thing go from being just a major PITA to downright insidious. That may sound overly dramatic but hear me out. I came back to the bank 6 years ago and joined a team whose standard practice was to WFH on Fridays. Was I slacking off and easing into the weekend on those days? No, quite the opposite. Fridays were often the busiest, most intense day of the week for me, kind of like Th/Fri now that I’m in the office Mon-Wed. Anyhow, this was a perk granted at the discretion of my group’s leadership - you know, common practice at any modern, 21st century business that has a trustworthy, professional staff and a CEO who isn’t a control freak. Before the pandemic, my team and most of my business partners were in different locations from mine. Now, due to layoffs and voluntary departures, there are even fewer people in my location, so zero business benefit from three days a week in the office, much less five. Did I mention that I’m a manager? Employee retention is one of my key responsibilities. RTO is just about as anti-retention as you can get, meaning it’s anti-manager as well. So to take advantage of a global pandemic to force a universal mandate of five days in the office when we never had that before, we’ll, that would be the slimiest of the slimy. Which is why I really do hope we’re all being trolled. Even Charlie can’t be that d-mb.

No. I work 6/7 days a week. I catch up on email and administrative backlog over the weekend.
