So AW just left the company after hitting his 1 year anniversary here. Why the sudden departure?

I've seen it with a few people in the management ranks. Here is what appears to be the pattern (at least to me).
- They recruit somebody from the outside to come in and manage X. Of course they don't hire from within b/c why would you do that?
- Said person comes in with preconceived notions, ideas, agenda while not knowing jack sh*t about what we do, why and all the hairballs that are out there. They might even have good ideas-- but they don't know that it'll be nearly impossible or at best really hard to accomplish.
- They then go about creating their org, reorging, bringing in their trusted advisors (at large salaries and also don't know jack sh*t about what we do and why)
- Said person starts getting many doses of reality, resistance from entrenched people, process and technology. In this person's case (dunno the person, but know enough about data and environments), they start seeing how long it takes to get anything done, how many different ways to report on the same data, how cr-p the data is and it's everywhere. At a certain point they just say, F this, and go elsewhere-- with a higher salary elsewhere, and in some cases their contractual payout.
Would of left Day 1, but a full year looks good on the resume.
He saw what a mess our data is and peaced out before he could take the fall on it being a mess.
His departure was announced "with mixed emotions".
Been seeing a ton of that lately...
there were personal circumstances.
It’s obvious. Lots of leaders and top talent have left fast. WF is not a good company to work for. It’s toxic. Layoffs coming July and they don’t care about your tenure or skill. WF is doing NOTHING to retain talent. Leave while you can.
Like everyone else, rats on a sinking ship.
