Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Jumping out of the fire into the frying pan is not an improvement

Working in banking today there ARE no good ones to work for. This industry is the same or worse small or large, regional or national. Those of you looking to leave SunTruist and think your new bank will be different, it’s not, so be careful what you wish for. Oh and those proclaiming they left and got these huge raises they are the exception not the norm. Check out this alleged HOT job market if you think I’m wrong. Jumping out of the fire into the frying pan is not an improvement.

Well said, @zoy+1gcRkyDi.

Yeah no thanks to credit unions. Constantly hiring their spouses or having affairs with their direct reports it was super fun it was like most of them never out grew high school

I now work for a small financial institution and absolutely love it. I doubt Truist is technically the “worst” bank to work for in America, but I do know it is terrible. My experience (and almost my entire department for that matter) are proof there are FAR better places to work.

I love how people will pop up and say “well, XYZ bank is just as bad as Truist”. Maybe there are equally atrocious places to work, but why would you spend your life somewhere because it is possible to find another place that is just as bad? I wish everyone luck, and the understanding that you DESERVE to at least be treated with respect.

Credit unions, let’s see, low pay, constant turnover, no chance of promotion, micromanagement, systems that make SunTruist look like the greatest in the world. I did mention the pay right and management that makes SunTruist even appear to be properly run. Credit unions are managed by big bank castoffs and boards of local yocals whose importance is legendary in their own minds. Bank with them? Yes. Work for them? No.
