Stankey oversaw Comm and Entertainment (DTV and WM). Both groups had their own CEO (McElfresh and Kilar). Entertainment is now gone so do we need both Stankey and McElfresh to oversee the same business? Sure Latin America, Legal, HR, D&I, and other centralized corporate orgs are under him, but they all now work in conjunction with McElfresh so what’s the structure look like going forward? Or better yet, does McElfresh shakeup his DR team to bring in new leadership from respectable proven companies? If this huge capital investment in Fiber and 5G still sees us treading water with new mounting debt, I can’t imagine this will be good for anyone. I just hope WBD’s new approach and combined assets can flourish in the growing streaming/content world and to cover the losses we’ve seen in T stock the past 3-4 years.
Regarding the Annual Meeting and the Board’s proposals, I hope the big houses (Blackrock and Vanguard) and all shareholders vote based on performance and needs going forward so we can turnover this ridiculous Board and their own financially motivated recommendations. If you haven’t read those, you need to. Drain that swamp.
