Anyone know a way to get local files off a corrupted laptop without internet

Got bit by the 365 update corrupting my work PC. Wondering if anyone's figured out a way to transfer local files from a corrupted PC to a new work PC (or flash drive) without internet. I know Wells tries to block it, but wondering if someone figured out a way to do it.

If your old machine is bootable, use a crossover network cable between old and new laptop, assign IP addresses to each from same network, and copy away.

The install didn't go through, but it logs on just fine. Files open like normal. Just doesn't connect to any servers or networks.

Why did you save files you need on your PC?

What do you mean by corrupted? If "you" can't boot the laptop, then you are not getting anything off it? Granted, a tech can create a tix to have the laptop sent to a team to extract data when the laptop does not boot. But a corrupted install of 365 does not render your laptop unbootable or does it all of a sudden corrupt the nic/wifi card.

Any capable LAN tech should be able to retrieve your data when migrating you. Good luck finding one who has the time and/or freedom to do so.

The company shut down any method of transferring files without an exception. No BT, no USB, no phone, etc

Great way to get fired. IF you are able to move files off to a phone, you still need to move them back to the new laptop. Don't think that the endpoint software can't detect these file transfers. Most likely Bluetooth is blocked for file transfers.

The hard drive is encrypted. If you can't boot up to Windows after the first encryption login, you won't be able to recover anything.

If bluetooth is available, you can try to connect your phone to send the files over.

I learned awhile ago to store more personal type docs in the cloud/server, not on the actual hard drive. I learned by a corrupted laptop just as you are about 10 years ago

No. No one should tell you how to circumvent security controls. That is asking to be fired.
