RTO tracking

Can anyone provide detail on how they are reporting on or tracking RTO? Badge swipes, being connected to the building network, both? There’s never been clear direction on what the actual requirements are - especially when it comes to if you have PTO or a holiday a day or two in the week. Also any insight on approved accommodations? I know we have a few on our team for people that appear healthy.

They aren’t check badges - this much I know. Too much of an HR issue, they will monitor to a degree but the badge monitoring isn’t happening. They thought about it but too much of a hassle.

Amazing how the best and by far most helpful comment is universally voted down.

As a young man working at Bank of Boston in the early 1980s, that’s exactly what I wound up doing… starting my own business. When I did eventually move back into corporate America, in Finance, it was way up the ladder.

If your coming in a minimum of 2 days a week, you are doing more than 95% of the hybrid workers. He doesn’t have anything to say to you :)

Ive been RTO since mid March. 3 weeks now ive only come in 2 times. I've been in 3 times every other week.

Haven't heard from my boss. No clue what reporting he gets. Curious if he has the ba--s to ever ask me.

My manager said that the reports do not indicate names but just as a group. I don’t believe him.

For our RTO tracking this is how they track it: 1) Did you swipe in to a WF building? If yes, it counts as a day in the office if No then 2) did you connect to a wf wifi? If yes, it counts as a day in the office if no 3) according to Workday are you out of the office for any reason? If yes, then that reduces the number of days you have to be in the office that week, if no it is counted as a day you WFH.

Our manager hasn't said one thing about compliance in regard to how many days we are supposed to go into the office, not one. I think half of what is said is complete BS as most the floors in our building are at the most, 30% full. There is no rule, if there was, then the teams that don't have to even RTO until after the summer would all be let go. Not one person that I know in our building that I talk to has said anything about being told to come in 3 days a week. And I have asked a lot of people this question in dif LOB's.

Just because people appear healthy did not mean that is so. I have a disability and in my pride I do my best to hide it. I can walk. I can run. But doing moderate amounts of either I pay the price. Many nights I've had to peel the ruined skin from the soles of my feet then crawl for a couple days till they heal up again just so people don't think in a cripple. You shouldn't know about their accommodations regardless.

Has nothing to do with badge swipes, or even the location from which you work.

It has EVERYTHING to do with compliance.

Are you "compliant" with their demands...? Do you submit to their authority...?

There has been a dashboard ready since day 1 of RTO that reports on badge swipes.

All it takes is drilling down the manager and seeing when the employees swiped to know when they didn't. Zero swipes are also reported.

Again this was all prepped ahead of time for day 1 of RTO. If you think you haven't been caught yet, you are wrong. All the data is available and has been since day 1.

If you don't know by now, you should probably be coming in 5 days a week

How many times can this be asked???? Please fire this person if they work for WF because they don't have the sense to search!

Please be mindful when saying one “appears healthy”. I personally have an ADA confirmed and documented disability. I technically could be given an accommodation. I choose not to, for the time being. I’m trying to see if I can “fit in” and be amongst my peers. But if you see me, I myself “appear healthy”.

My point being, never assume what you do not know. Just trust that there is an extensive review process that our accommodations team oversees.

As someone already noted, it's always been badge swipes. The whole RTO thing is a utterly id--tic in cases where the person is the sole team member at a location, and showing up becomes just checking a box. But, box checking seems to be the norm lately...

Badge swipes - it always has been badge swipes

RTO was a real bonehead move by horribly out of touch executives.

We don't work better together. Don't tell adults that you've never met how they work best.

Wells desperately needs younger leadership. At least younger in thought. Not this geriatric thinking we're stuck with now.

Thank you for asking this in its own thread instead of conflating an existing one. Too many layoff threads on here to find info on what we really care about (RTO).

the rule is to show up 3 days per week, that's been pretty well communicated. if they told you all the details of their tracking then people would figure out how to circumvent. if your boss comes and talks to you about not being in the office last week and you were on PTO a few or all of those days then tell him that, you'll be fine.

you can also read though the countless other threads on the same subject. and as indicated, just show up and you'll be fine.

It is much easier to follow the rules when you know what they are.

This cr-p again? You work for a company. They make the rules. Just go in and grow up. Otherwise start your own business.
