Anyone learn anything new from the town hall? It was a real waste of time, not sure who actually plans these town halls, just alot of fluff. I would like to ask why T has such horrible customer service and why nothing is being done to correct the problem. I wonder if he even realizes how bad T's customer service is?

If McElfresh's lips are moving he is lying.
Why are people so surprised by this? He will be the next CEO and is being groomed by one of the worst CEO’s in America in the last 50 years.
"Laundry time and cleaning shouldn’t be considered a company employee benefit."
Only someone who's never worked from home, Isn't allowed to work from home (likely rightly), or doesn't have the professionalism to be able to handle working from home would say something like this.
McElfresh for CEO!
Bring Whitacre back!
Aren’t they all
The equity is not burned it’s available. Sell the building that costs so many billions to maintain. Empty buildings all over the USA. Sell them.
They used to give people money to retire early. Some willingly some not. That has changed. They’ve figured out another way like no health insurance if you don’t leave before the first. For 2022 the return to work initiative will give some the incentive they need to retire. If your in your 60’s and have an hour plus commute They think you’ll retire if force back.
"Productivity is never as high when working virtually."
Speak for yourself, not for the rest of us. If you don't have the professional discipline to work from home—that is, to not confuse "laundry" with AT&T tasks—we don't need you.
There are customer-facing jobs in the company, but anyone who sits in a cubicle working at computer and talking on the phone can do it remotely. And many in offices, you may not even realize, already do that; quite a few teams are distributed and work together across time zones.
You sound like a disgruntled worker. Some workers care about the company and their work. You don't.
Town halls are executives putting on different clothes and saying the same things.
If they truly promoting customer first, then stop all the town hall BS. Employees are customers too, we are sick and tired being told to be grateful to work here. Having executives repeat the same diatribe actually cast morale even lower.
“ I and my team have never been as productive as we were during the full remote times, but then our work product isn't filling auditoriums and ‘public speaking’ and whatever "relationship equity" is. Now it's back to wasting hours a day on commuting, burning gasoline, paying for parking. No thanks. If the job goes back in, I won't be following it.”
Productivity is never as high when working virtually. You know it and leadership knows it. Laundry time and cleaning shouldn’t be considered a company employee benefit.
Rethink Possible!
You have to question whether Whitaker approves of the degradation of AT&T since he retired. He may like Stephenson and Stankey on a personal level, but not so much on a leadership level.

I might add "and if all employees did too. I did over 15 years ago and saved a bundle while getting better customer service. In my are T-Mobile has better coverage than T or Verizon/Sprint
one telling remark in response to a "return to office" question was
"you've worked with them in an office setting, in a wire center, in a call center, in a central office, in an lwd. you've got that equity. we have been burning that equity as we have been remote. now, the question is can you ever build that in the future being virtual? i don't think we can. so what we're trying to do isn't for today. it's not for this week or this quarter or this month. it's not to improve results right now. it's not to do that. it's to figure out how we do it in a way that people can be present in an office and virtual and healthy so we can establish the relationship equity that we need,"
We need to return to an office because we own it, because otherwise the equity is "burned." It was a tacit admission that "we have the space, we need to fill it" is still a factor.

The way they have been promoting the “customer first” mantra you would think that it is some new approach to running a business.

Why don't you submit this question?
What I learned is that whitacre watches the stock price every day and yet had no spine to look at Stinky and Fluffy and ask them why they are in charge.
Perhaps he was just happy that he got a free shirt.
How bored would you have to be to watch? It was more entertaining than doing my actual job with micromanagement and others with Stinkey aspirations who also think they know better than anyone else and consider any disagreement a threat to them.
It was actually a great one and half hour break from dealing with the lower-level id--ts.
Town halls are absolutely necessary so people who like to send Teams invites could go to town halls instead of harassing people who actually work.
Who has time to watch this nonsense, and how bored would you have to be to watch these town halls?
With Mr. Whitacre there, at least we had one real leader on the stage.
He knows and didn't care. Why do you?
