Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T still needs to reduce operating expenses

and will probably begin headcount rationalization once again in the 3rd quarter. The goal here is to reduce unnecessary overhead and redundancy in the operation. It's an easy fix!

Someone will know about 2nd quarter cuts by June 10. Leak out the information. Spill the beans. Be a team player!

Why? To give another unearned bonus to Stankey? So they can arrange another ill-fated acquisition? No thanks, if the savings went to something logical, like paying down debt, I'm all in. Why provide savings only to have Stankey and BOD throw it down a rathole?

What a nonsense post. They'll cut as automation and other process efficiencies allow, and there will be announcements as leases expire and they consolidate real estate.

There isn't going to be any commencement come a given quarter.

Stankey and McFresh have regressive mindset on managing cost. Sure, that are excesses to be cut, take the multiple layers of management that oppress the workforce. The targeted cuts are mostly people that do the actual work, and impacts customer service. This is the company with growth rate of a utility, not high tech or e-commerce.

Progressive growth solves many ills, even with a lower margin. Successful companies invest to keep existing customers happy and win over new customers. Customers don't give a damn about your cost structure.

Easy.

Just increases the cost of our unlimited plans again and increases the cost of our DirecTV packages again.

That's been working to increase revenue every time we do it right?

Done

First round of rationalization will be finished and off payroll by June 30.

Not gonna happen...would have already notified the impacted personnel by now. Nobody had been notified.

McElfresh said today because of inflation we will have to pay frontline employees more. He said we will have to recover that cost. Headcount reductions are coming

Because we're already at the end of the 2nd qtr and so far, crickets!

Why would Santone and Stankey wait until 3Q to start? Seems like they would want to have all headcount rationalization over and done with by 3Q.
