@1ujm, because we know that you're lying based on your age and the yearly maximums you could have contributed to your 401(k).
@1dvb+, I hope you're 59.
Retirement saving is for losers. I'm spending all my money and offing myself at 60.
55 YO with 1.1 million in my 401(k) split 80/20 between a traditional and roth account. Have another $80k if I take a lump sum pension and $50k in an HSA. And I still don't feel like I can retire.
I'm @lkm from below, why the heck m I being down voted?? Because I took a loss like the market at large did??
@qsz, yes, I feel like I am on track. I also have savings and some other accounts on top of the 401K. Plus, I own some real estate other than my primary residence. I have no debt. I am in a good place.
I plan to retire at 63 1/2 - a little over a year from now. I am ready.
55, $950K between me and my wife.
44 YO / ~$500K
29 years old, $22,000 saved
Uhh the thread last week was for those between 35-45. This thread has no age restriction. Not the same.
@rke - do you feel you are on track? when do you plan to retire?
Hi @fnv I am 60 and my numbers are very similar to yours. Looking at the cost of living, I'll have to work until I am 72 to retire (assuming I'll live until late 80s).
58, 600k. Spouse has another 600k. I feel like I need double this to retire with this inflation.
62, $1.5M
Who cares? All that matters is if you are on track for your own goals.
Late 30s, $2.3m, lost my a-s in the last 6 months, down about 14%
why is this being asked again, there was a thread on it last week.

If you are 58, you and your spouse got rich when the working man got screwed. Explains the amount. Also explains your last line. Straight of the playbook of certain networks and operatives.

I don’t think that’s behind at all. I never even had access to a 401K until I was 33 in 1993. 401Ks were very new and rare in those days and all of my savings was toward my two Children’s college savings. We were a single income stay at home mom family and all about our children.
Starting in 1993 I contributed 6% to get the max and upped it as often as I could. When kids were out of college I really started cranking and yy last 3 years working I did massive catch up contributions. Just retired and although we are not well off we are making it. It’s a long game and you should do far better.
Boy we haven’t had this same d-mb thread in what, a day or two? Get a new fixation
68, 200k, feeling good
38yo, $95K
