They held off on the layoffs as they now feel confident they can terminate for cause all those who did not RTO and save the severance money. Big win for the boys.

I agree. Unfortunately the BOD and CEO aren't concerned about how things look. All they care about is reducing domestic headcount as cheaply as possible. That takes priority over everything, including regulatory issues.

@1vhj nails it. Perfectly stated.

But that won't happen. Because of the psychological need of people who are "in charge" to know that their people are in discomfort. It's an actual personality trait that is common among the personality types that gravitate towards leadership positions, and it explains a lot.

Why do employees keep taking it? Google Stockholm Syndrome.

RTO has been a miserable failure.

The C suite just needs to say something like: "You talked, we listened." And then they say that they're rescinding RTO.

The employees get what they want, and the bank can say it rescinded RTO based on employee feedback. It makes the bank look good. It won't look like defeat for them.

Everyone wins.

I heard that tech and marketing and mortgage are all affected tomorrow. They are selling off all businesses tomorrow and breaking up the bank. Everyone is being required to go into the office immediately and spans and layers is being revoked. RTO, New York headquarters, asset cap, audit, admins, project managers, Saul, Hubs, RTO, Saul. Anything I’m missing?

There is not mass layoffs planned for tomorrow. There are some larger tech layoffs next month.
