Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Network Outage

Hello

As a current AT&T Network retiree I was hoping if any one can expand on the network outage impacting U-verse (Internet, Phone, and Uverse TV). I am in Central Oklahoma and have had no service since Friday Afternoon (5-20-22) and still down as of this posting at 10:45pm at Night.

Fiber Cut, System Platform Outage, or Software ???

Never seen it this bad or long.

Maybe you should have called AT&T instead of going to an anonymous forum.

ATT discontinued U-Verse, forgot to notify customers.

"Not a AT&T problem. People need to call before they dig."

Sometimes. Other times, they know exactly where the line is. Looking at it. Making the decision to go ahead and go for it. There just isn't enough consequence for it.
It comes down to the tiny amount of some fine they 'might' have to pay, versus 5-10x that amount in actual losses if they wait on what it would take to do it properly. (relocation or whatever)

At&t always has diversity in its fiber routes. It just happens to be in the same sheath most of the time.

OP here, guessing it was a fiber cut along a rural area Interoffice (IOF) route which may not have diversity built in. Appears to have been restored late last night at least 8 Hours or longer after outage.
