Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Mental health month and layoffs

Interesting that we’re getting lots of leadership discussion around mental health. For employees one of the biggest sources of stress is layoffs hanging over our heads. When a person quits a company the company can continue. When a company gets rid of a person the person’s entire life is affected- housing, family, healthcare. Basically everything. If you want your employees to be mentally healthy stop with the constant threat of reorg and layoffs. I would bet that is the number one cause of mental health concerns at work.

@odk, I would tend to agree. They are always trying to cover their azzes. They repeatedly try to convince us CS is not a racist, but I don't think anyone believes their constant attempt at manipulation.

It's also the stack-ranking, the unwillingness of people to help each other out (due to the competitive stack ranking), the back-stabbing, the power games, in some cases bordering on ha_rass_ment. They never got rid of the old guard, so the old guard (those that are not very advanced in skillset, or did not advance their skillset over the years) attacks the new guard. The new guard leaves. Rinse. Repeat.
