Has anyone heard of a tech reorg in TI/Hybrid coming next month?

This true. But getting everything into the cloud is a 10 year project. I'd bet it never fully happens. Someone is preaching that the public cloud saves a lot of money. On the scale of Wells Fargo it does not. Give it a few years and as more apps hit the cloud, they start seeing all the costs and readjust their models to keep more on prem and use the public cloud for rapid capacity expansion when needed.

They have already gotten burned on unexpectedly high egress charges from the public cloud.

@1gnw+1gPtOzC3 “Spinning up” will be automated in the cloud. It won’t be long until we need a lot less people in TI.

TI is definitely not moving away from an enterprise to LOB model. TI follows the IT idea of ending shadow IT in the LOBs and instead everything be enterprise services to avoid duplication of services in different LOBs.

I don't believe the "products" model has anything to do with what other LOBs are doing, but realigning teams into "products" TI offers to the LOBs.

I don’t understand how an infrastructure team would be affected by products model. They spin up and provision hardware resources based on requests. LOB’s changing to products model will only change how those requests are coming in. Unless they are becoming less enterprise and being aligned directly to the LOB themselves. Can someone please explain how a products model would change how this team is structured?

All of TI has been or is getting reorg'd.

They want the teams structured around a "products" model whatever the f that is.
