Rto ruined everything. Work dynamic is no longer the same. Never have I ever gotten in trouble for asking to leave a bit early for ONE day. No it's not an hour.. basically half an hour, more or less. I'm in the office 3x a week. I'm also salary and obviously I wouldn't leave early if i was busy but seriously. I got yelled at and I'm seriously thinking about contacting hr to protect myself, in case I start yelling back. There will be a reason why I yelled back. Getting out of hand and this isn't the first time either

You should have told them you're leaving early, not ask them if you could.
Fake news
There are many managers at WF on a power trip. Make it clear you won't tolerate that treatment without yelling. You have more power than you think.
Please look outside the company. The same thing happened to me, I moved to another team and experienced not the same, but a different form of abusive below the belt behavior. I have never worked with as many unprofessional people as I did at WF.
Well the same thing happens at Chase. Just sayin since these folks came from there.
That is never acceptable by anyone at anytime. Toxic management.
Wait! You're salaried and have to "beg" to leave early? That is the beauty in being exempt... not supposed to have to account for every hour of the day provided you get your work done. I wouldn't put you with that cr-p!!
Document everything. File a formal complaint with HR. This will buy you some time. Then continue to look at external opportunities on their dime until you escape this sinking ship.
It's not whining or complaining from what I see. It's just seems like power/control, misunderstanding that got taken out of context.
as a salaried/exempt employee if you work a minute over four hours you can take the rest of the day off. if you work less then 4 hours then bug out and take half a day. they can only force you to take PTO on half day increments. I wouldn't do this often but as long as your work is getting done then you should be fine else it is a performance issue. if your manager doesn't like it tell him to go to HR. I'd say if your work is good then not much can be done and tell him to prove it otherwise
"I got yelled at".
OP,
Grow a pair and stop whining about every thing that happens to you.
@lah, exactly! So agree. Do not go to HR - ever - about anything!
HR don't give a fugg about your feelings. They are there to protect WF. Remember all the branch bankers abuse for years over the sales practices scandal?! Yeah, HR never did anything then either. That's why Ms. Hardison was let go.
2022 - "File a lawsuit against the company and the person that yelled at you"
- "start by using their services for mental health"
- "report the boss to the ethics hotline"
@scw+1gOLn0Xz
I did offer that and always do if needed. Apparently I accused them of promising which never came out of my mouth
Tell them that you will make up the "missed" time from that day by working later on another day.
File a lawsuit against the company and the person that yelled at you
I would start by using their services for mental health, but definitely report the boss to the ethics hotline as that is abuse. document everything- Look for another job in another group, I did all of this. IF this fails, take a leave of absence for mental health
Oh sorry OP here, new to this. Then what do you suggest?
Contact HR and have it documented, if they retaliate, sue them!
Believe me they get so scared, u just have to show the ba--s
The BEST way to protect yourself is to NOT contact HR, do you not read this forum? They're not there to protect YOU!!!!
