Apple pushes back RTO

Keep fighting the good fight people. Other companies are seeing the light. Maybe soon Wells will too!

You're all missing the point.

RTO has NOTHING to do with "returning to an office". It has EVERYTHING to do with creating an environment where people will voluntarily quit so headcount numbers can reach a certain goal with the least amount of expense.

From their perspective, why do layoffs and pay severance when people can be encouraged to quit on their own...?

Stop the RTO madness. WF needs to allow employees (ADULTS) to work where they are most productive. This whole exercise is an embarrassment and further proof of WF leadership dinosaurs.

Wells needs to pull the plug on RTO and allow adults to choose for themselves where they work best. If someone is not performing, cut them. If not, leave well enough alone. They are shooting themselves in the foot with this outdated way of thinking and one size fits all approach.

So these tech companies that have created all kinds of ways to work remotely forcing non-tech companies into buying into it are now mad when it turns on them?

I think the execs thought process was "we'll make it miserable and some will leave voluntarily. I'm not sure they expected this many people to keep doing their job, but to ignore directives to RTO. It's pretty comical actually.

We aren’t Apple, and our technology is far closer to an Abacus than an Apple anything.

This was not entirely unexpected. The pendulum was already swinging in the non RTO way a few days ago. I think there is more to come. Wells will have to come up with something similar. If RTO is really pulling teeth, and that is seen as a cost, something will give. It always does. There are hybrid cars, and there are hybrid ways of business. This is getting interestng.
