Those two divisions have nothing to do with brokerage. Something tells me you're out of your element here

Not really a loss, the guy was in way over his head. Bring back Glass-Stegal. (June 16, 1933. The Glass-Steagall Act effectively separated commercial banking from investment banking and created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, among other things.)

Must be a reason 15 plus FA's and assistants have left the WFA PCG channel to the Finet channel in the central VA area in the last couple of years. Maybe the cut backs in operations and new blood from Chase by way of Bear Sterns. WFA becoming more bank like everyday.

Obvious Hayes was on the way out at the managers meeting last month. He was mostly an afterthought.

I remember attending Jim Hays first town hall as CEO of WFA. Dude spent a good 10 minutes bragging about his second home in CA wine country with its personal vineyards, and stuff like that, while showing pictures of all of it on the projector. And then left enough time to answer only one question in the Q&A. Always seemed like a tone deaf clown.

Hays was a disaster and weak leader. WFA is filled with old school “leader” who lack vision and any ability to be a step ahead of competitors.

Nah...this move was seen from a mile away. It would be too tough to peel out WFA now.

Retiring at WF is the same as saying, you are now laid off. But since you are a big wig, we will let you say you are retiring.
