Well this is a fun situation and also just PROVES that no one thought through the RTO process. What happens to those that need assistance in building emergencies. I completed a form and one of the fields was "CUBE NUMBER" I wasn't being a brat...but entered "N/A - UNASSIGNED seating so no set cube". Which basically means it's a crapfest if there is an emergency and they try and find me. One...I'm NOT in the office every day...Two...I will go to a specific area designated on the floor - but for them to know where I SIT...ha ha...well take that up with the CEO. I'm sure you know where he sits... This is just such a FAIL on EVERY LEVEL. Oh and they don't even have any sort of fire warden on this floor because of the RTO program and folks not coming in all the time. How is this safe for anyone?

As some who is disabled, I can tell you this has been a problem for years. No rhyme or reason. One guard tried to get me to go down the stairs once and I told him you have to be kidding. He finally let me use the elevator since it was a stupid drill.
If it was a real fire, guess I’m toast.

Yeah, I was just thinking about this because I happened to see an ambulance near the office. I wondered about building safety. I have no idea where the fire exits are, couldn’t even describe where I sit really. Plus, since we don’t have phones on our desk, who would we call for help?

We just had a fire drill this week in my building. Fun times!! It was the quickest one since no one was there.
Sorry but this is a weak argument for those who don't want RTO. Yes, safety is a must (needs to be addressed) and old forms need to be revised but the concept of hotel is valid.
If they address this safety concern, I will still not be happy with RTO.

An area must have a Business Unit Plan, which is not required in all areas.
At other places I've worked, each area has a captain so that when the building is evacuated either through a real event or a drill, the captain is responsible for making sure everyone makes it out of the building. Think of fire drills in grade school. In the way that WF is currently doing things, how do you know if a person makes it out? Who is accountable if the captain is out the day of a drill or real event? There is some serious liability here, both from the standpoint of a person being left in the building and someone going back into the building to find a person on the list that may be home that day. If there is no set space, how does the captain know who is not accounted for?
What happens with BCP now??
