Covid Policy

In case you were wondering the covid policy recently changed... 05/09. However if you call HR wells and specifically select option 8 for covid it's a cr-p shoot if you get the accurate information. Also this is not updated on teamworks from home. To further prove how much of a mess this company is if you submit the paperwork as previously required you'll get a denial email 3 days later. Can someone explain why we have a department reviewing doctors letters when it's no longer required? Or why are they not training the HR covid team on the new policy?! Seems like a complete waste of money to staff a department for no reason. Anyway you no longer need a doctors note OR covid test to use the non event code... you're welcome!

Who cares what the COVID policy is, tomorrow it will be different anyway. It's a joke. Literally every time someone pops a test I have to go to the policy site because it's constantly in flux and frankly it usually makes no logical sense. It's past time the company just stops talking about it or even having a policy on it. If you're sick, stay home or something, whatever. It's not like it makes a difference. Lock downs, no lockdowns, masks, no masks, no policy has made a difference. You're going to get exposed to it, period.

Some of these comments... hello?! Do you even work at WF or do you just live under a rock?
Sick time is part of your pto, it just protects you from getting an occurrence for attendance purposes
No non event code doesn't go against your pto, anyone can use it even if you're not customer facing
No you no longer need a doctor note or test results... that's the purpose of the post... the policy just changed. You get 5 paid days if you test positive, no questions asked
Some of you need to spend more time reading the policies and less time on your phones

to the questions about sick time:
PTO is just what it says - "paid time off" - which includes both "vacation" and "sick days"
Depending on the state or municipality, an employer may be required to provide separate buckets for each, however, those are usually subject to a minimum requirement on vacation time (e.g. if an employer only provides one week of paid vacation then they have to provide a separate allowance of paid sick leave). Simply put wells fargo's PTO allowances are generous enough that the requirement for separate, incremental sick time doesn't kick in and so it comes out of PTO.

It's tracked separately in the system because sick time has different rules around absences (planned/unplanned) vs PTO and how it can or can't be used to penalize for attendance.

Can you use the non routine code if you have covid and are an office employee who is hybrid or wfh? I thought it was set up for mostly client facing workers like branch workers?

I know a few office non-client workers who were quite sick and coulda used a day or 2 but didn’t want to use their pto since their state didn’t provide sick time.

@1yhu+1gI3ennk Thanks. Anyone know why plain old “sick” time hits your PTO bucket? You code it as sick but it lowers your PTO total.

Thanks.

The non-routine code for COVID does not ding your PTO. This is a separate bucket that allows you to be paid while you’re out without using personal PTO days. It was set in place to track COVID and for the obvious reason that you can’t put normal “worked” hours while you have COVID

The non-routine event PTO code. You know how you choose sick, holiday, PTO, jury duty? Covid is “non-routine event”. To get paid from that bucket you needed to provide test results via doctor’s note.

For anyone who has used it - does it not ding your PTO? I’m in AZ and if you use the paid sick days it comes out of your PTO bucket. I thought sick and PTO had to be separate allowances?
