Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I’m done with RTO

I played along for two months, started at three days a week. After a month of being one of the only people in the office, I dropped down to two days. Nobody on my team is in the same location.
Here I am today sitting in a large campus and there are less than a dozen cars in our whole parking lot.
I was 100% remote before Covid. I am no longer going into the office. If they want me in the office three days a week, start paying me some incentive cash to go in. Until then, I am done.

Our whole floor is empty except for our team. They make us sit right next to each other. It is unbearably loud. A couple loudmouths are always talking. If anyone is on the phone, you hear their whole conversation and it makes it hard to concentrate. I wish at least they told us to go pick any seat on the floor but it is too close for comfort. Boss is there but typical boss just hiding in the back unable to make any decision.

To the boot lickers saying to stop complaining and/or to comply with RTO five days a week - what is wrong with y’all? Why does it bother you so much that people are standing up for themselves? Are you scared of changes? Would WFH make your lives worse? Are people not allowed to have their own opinions and beliefs and to to make them actionable?

It’s just so weird to be so enraged over something that has literally changed the majority of workers lives for the better.

Have NOT gone into the office and NEVER will

Gave my manager my resignation on Friday via email because….I got a job at Apple with a 20k per year raise and a letter stating I never have to go into the office; I can work remotely 100%

Bye bye Wells Fargo

I agree with you. I’m now doing 2 days. There are literally 7 -10 or less on my floor and my tram is remote. Should be over 100 people. It’s weird and a little creepy. I’m over an hour away and take the train!

@mtu+1gBynVUo, So, pretty much like kindergarten - little Billy misbehaved so the whole class has to stay in from recess? Five-year-old me knew that was id--tic and unfair back then. You think that strategy will work with thousands of adult professionals today? 😂🤣

None of my team is going in. 2-up mgr said division compliance is less than 50% and we need to comply. That was a week ago.

We're still not going into the offices.

Hold strong, people.

I've been at a number of town halls this week and so far nothing.

Find a new job or quit complaining … the company doesn’t owe you anything except the salary you make for doing your job. You sound entitled.

We have basically formed a union whether you like it or not. Employees at large are striking until management provides incentive to go to the office. They can’t put this many people on corrective action plans and if they make it 5 days a week even less people will come in. I expect something about office attendance in the next town halls

It is Friday though, so that's probably the lowest attendance day.

Also, don't expect and carrots. Expect more sticks. Managers are already getting lists.

Welcome to a very large club OP. I've been in 2 days total. Manager hasn't said a word (so far, I get it) but I made a stand and glad to see you've got the courage to try as well.

You know what, I don’t like it either. But non-compliance is the quickest way to being forced to go back 5 days a week and I don’t want that either. If people don’t show up, they will take it all away, not give you more days at home. If that’s what you think, you’re delusional.

Funny thing is, compliance is even worse than reported. Many groups are including employees that have been working on site throughout the pandemic due to the nature of their roles as being 'RTO compliant'. Even with that kind of new math going on, compliance is still less than 50%.

You're not alone OP. In fact, you're in the majority.

I just heard from my boss that there is mass non-compliance. 1 day a week is all I plan to do.
