Attrition levels?

Anyone privy to the current attrition levels across the back since RTO was mandated? Uncomfortably high? Just fine? Too low?

If attrition is uncomfortably high, does senior leadership know it's primarily because of RTO?

Why is senior leadership so bent on RTO instead of simply worrying about whether work is getting done or not?

Just under 20% in my area. Sadly it is the people who got retention raises last year to stay that are leaving. May not be greener but at least it is different BS from different people. Job market is not good but if you are really good and can demonstrate it you will get a job.

The baby boomers are retiring. Expect more attrition, besides, based on the whining going on in this site, I wouldn't want to work with you.

I’ve heard numbers anywhere between 23 and 30%

Lol at it being endemic.. we’re going to go through the same waves which will look alpha numbers.. and that’s with less testing..

Lots of resignations but not necessarily because of RTO. people had their lives on hold for 2+ years with pandemic and now life goes on even though pandemic is now endemic...

Attrition was already uncomfortably bad in my group before RTO. RTO or no RTO it was going to continue. That’s not the biggest factor for at least my group.

Attrition is bad everywhere right now due to lots of variables. You can’t really isolate the impact RTO is having.

HR is quitting because more services are going third party. No need for large HR presence.

HR is quitting because if RTO. I know many were remote before the pandemic.

I'm sure RTO is driving some attrition but I know in tech that's not even the tip of the iceberg. Even if they gave tech full remote I think they would still see attrition with the sh-t show that's been going on for 2+ years now. Laying off QA and going full-stack last year was too abrupt. We're still recovering from it and putting out sh-t results because the business knowledge left with QA. Microservices create just as many problems as they solve. Cloud will not fix everything, it's more expensive in the long run. You gain resiliency but lose security. They've been telling us we're going to transformation for over 2 years now but won't commit to a hard cut-off date. I could go on.
