Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What RTO tracking is currently happening?

Curious to know the experience of the managers out there and what tracking info they are receiving or what they have heard will happen? Do they get a badge swipe report or is it by where you are logged into the network? Does or will anyone care if we go to a more convenient office location other than the one we are assigned to? Some of us have badge access to multiple locations in hub cities and wondering if anyone is tracking assigned location if our managers don’t care about it?

We got a badge tracking report with a “zero” list of specific people who have never come in. The manager is required to get a rationale from each person

Douche move, but if that's the case, yeah, not worth coming in.

They're looking at all the data, but it's a big bag of HR mess to figure out how to enforce it. Though the cleanest route is a blanket policy so no one can compare their situation, it's one that will lead to even more departures.

We just got out first badge in tracking report and we're not in compliance as a team with 1x / week. While I'm compliant I know some in my team aren't. I'd rather that we only got notified if we were out of compliance instead of notifying the whole team.

They know if they try to enforce it people will leave. The problem with Wells is it outsourced a lot of positions to people who came from reputable companies so they make policies as though they have leverage. Wells has zero leverage in this game.

It’s going on all over the work force. Whether you like it or not covid introduced a 15\hr minimum wage for all workers. That forces companies to pay more than minimum wage because workers are demanding more. Covid introduced work from home. It happened. The worker has that benefit. A company especially wells can’t just take that away without giving something back. If they do that then sh-t why not hop to another company and get a pay bump for my troubles. Whoever is making these decisions on behalf of wells is a terrible negotiator

if they make rto 5 days per week then I will no longer log in from home and once I log out for the day I'm done till the next.

I heard that they're going to make "Office Attendance Compliance" a metric in next years performance reviews.

In other words, if you don't go into the office like a good little drone, you'll only get a .25% raise instead of a .7% one.

Sitting in a staff meeting with the one downs from OC1, I heard compliance is abysmal in our group. They are reporting but have no plans to enforce yet. Enforcement means getting HR involved. They were taking about ways to encourage people into the office - I plan to still go 3 days because I can’t afford not to

I can confirm wells has the capability to track who badges in everyday because my department did it. Not so sure about badging out because every location doesn’t require you to.

The 6 hour thing seems to be coming up a lot and I honestly doubt wells is going to use the manpower to track IP addresses across the enterprise. That would require ya know…resources?

I think it’s more likely that they’d use the 5 day RTO as a threat. Almost like hey we tried to compromise with you all but that didn’t work so 5 days in office. I doubt they’ll actually pull the trigger. The industry as a whole is hurting for talent and wells isn’t exactly getting the cream of the crop as it is

If they want us to collaborate around the cooler or white board, why are they tracking anything computer related for RTO? I mean, am I supposed to stand at the water cooler with my laptop so I can swipe from time to time or something?

I heard badging and system log in are being tracked. Numbers are not looking good and in a meeting this week was informed that 5 day RTO might be put in place by year end.

this week is the first I've heard of the 6hr thing, someone mentioned it to me in the office and then saw it mentioned in a few different posts here. when our group head shared some reporting a couple weeks back they didn't mention anything about time online, just badge and logins. it could be lob specific and a way to ensure people aren't just coming in, logging in, then going home,

As long as you badge in somewhere you were fine. They know that people go to other buildings for various reasons for the most part. Some groups require a specific location but as long as your group has space in a building and your manager is fine with it there is no issue.

Badge swipes and login (LAN vs VPN) are tracked and reported down to OC+3, as well as being aggregated and reported up to the CEO. You get credit for going into an alternate location.

Two of the 3 replies so far offer about as much insight as I could get from kicking myself in the beanbag.

Although your location is tracked, that isn't a big deal unless your assigned location is the same assigned location of other people on your team. If it didn't make a material difference in that way then you will get enough credit for going to the alternate location. And even if it made a difference regarding others on your team then that is only an issue at your manager level rather than higher up.
