When you want to hire cheap labor from all corners of the globe, you can't ask for RTO at home.
If they can do the work remotely, so can we.
These companies and tech have been pushing us to be able to work remotely for several years. Now they are going in the opposite direction. Not exactly sure what is driving this, but they need to get their story straight and stick to it. It feels like they can’t make any sound decisions. From this story, it appears that WF is work from office with some flexibility. Still don’t understand the unassigned desks. Collaboration doesn’t work when you don’t talk to anyone because you have no clue who they are or see them more than a couple of times.
Thanks for sharing! This is one of the best RTO articles to date. Hadn’t heard of Blind either, will have to check it out.
"We aren't giving RTO interviews at this time" = "We tried to have RTO, but only like 10% are showing up"
Someone was late to the party
Why are all these hybrid articles coming out? We’ve known it is hybrid model for months now.
Same rules should apply to all.
when one area gets an exception it just causes anger and frustration with everyone else.
Wells Fargo has embraced a hybrid work model in which many employees work at least three days a week in the office, with the bank’s tech employees given more flexibility.
The San Francisco bank shared with me a few more details this month on the bank’s return to office effort, which began March 14 and was originally unveiled in a February company memo from Scott Powell, the bank's chief operating officer. Wells declined to provide an executive to elaborate on the policy Tuesday: “We are not doing interviews regarding return to office at this time.”
“Our go-forward approach is office-based, with flexibility,” the bank said. “In practice, this means staff groups will have flexibility to have up to two days a week of remote work and spending three days a week in the office.
“Technology employees followed a wide range of workplace schedules prior to the pandemic and the majority of technology employees have more flexibility to work remotely,” the bank said.
